Cultivation System + General Explanation (read after chapter 8 as this will not repeat info in ch. 8)
Explanation for Soul Foundation+ realm(s) and their relation with cultivation technique.
First off, a cultivation technique is how a cultivator learns to absorb and use qi for themselves. Each cultivation technique is different and will teach different martial techniques at different "layers".
During the Qi Gathering Stage, a cultivator can only use and have access to the first layer of a cultivation technique.
Once they become an early stage soul foundation cultivator, it means they have mastered the 1st layer and as such, will have access to the 2nd layer. After mastering the 2nd later, they enter the middle stage of soul foundation and have access to the 3rd layer. When they master the 3rd layer, they enter the late stage of soul foundation and have access to the 4th layer. After mastering the 4th layer, they become a Martial Fighter.
Now, when you become a Martial Fighter, you can cultivate the technique you originally used while learning a new cultivation technique as well. When you learn a new cultivation technique and managed to master the 1st layer of the new one, you will then be considered as an early stage Martial Fighter. The cycle repeats until you become a Martial Lord where you learn your third technique and in the Martial Emperor realm you learn the 4th one.
Due to the way this cultivation system works, a Martial Fighter who has managed, for example, learned up to the 8th layer of a cultivation technique, can rival a Martial Lord who has reached the 4th layer in two cultivation techniques. While the Martial Lord has higher quantity and quality of qi, the martial techniques offered by the 8th layer are much stronger.
Just remember that while learning the first 4 layers of a cultivation techniques, it will impact a cultivator's soul world. That being the case, it gets harder to master new techniques as you learn more cultivation techniques because it is harder for your soul world to change.
From lowest to highest, with their respective strength compared to human cultivation. There are also early, middle, late stages of beast stages.
Common - Qi Gathering
Uncommon - Soul Foundation
Rare - Martial Fighter
Epic - Martial Lord
Mythic - Martial Saint
Divine - Martial Emperor
Note: Earlier on, common and uncommon grade spiritual beasts are really easy to kill. This is because they lack intelligence and can easily be taken advantage off.
Just for a general idea of clothing and what I mean when I refer to something.
Robes - either are sect robes or other robes; various sects have their own sect robes with special designs; other than that, people and families with high statuses have unique robes as well.
Dress - aka a hanfu (according to google), worn for various occasions; a short dress also exists which is called a qipao or cheongsam; usually when I say dress, I refer to a long one or I will state otherwise.
Tang suit - usually what I mean when I refer to a shirt, can be worn by both genders; less formal than wearing custom made robes but its like a "middle class" thing where it is better than the clothing worn by villagers and mortals.
Rogue cultivator clothing - pretty much sect robes but at a lower quality and generally darker colors like black, brown, or gray. You can also add on a hat with a veil and etc to hide identity. Worn by rogue cultivators of course...
Note: These are not my pictures and I do not take credit for it.
TLDR: Give it a go, I was happily surprised.
I would have rated it 4, if not for the guy that rated it 1 star, if more people review the novel, I will most probably downrank it to 4, but until then, I want more people to read the novel, so I'll give it a 5 for now
Anyway, chapter 75 is the end of the second volume, and I have to say that until now, the novel has been great, the MC feels alive and other characters have a really nice depth to them as well.
The author is developing the world rather nicely, albeit at a slower pace than I expected, at least that's how it feels like, but that's neither a negative nor a positive really, so take that as you will.
Overall, I recommend it and hope that more people would it give go

You see the protagonist needed a partner for dual cultivation and you might think that he would want the highest quality possible in that regard or that the writer had some early harem members planned out for that role. There were even two such women that were introduced and developed for the story, but he writes them out of the plot for stupid reasons and right away the protagonist was earning for his first slave. Stupid and illogical.
I read most of what's available and even ignoring the ethical concerns? The writing just doesn't cut it, man. The narrative structure is not well planned, it invalidates itself in places, throws out characters it developed as I said earlier, the pacing feels like it's just two steps behind where it should be to be truly satisfying, and the syntax is very poor. The scenes feel more like a dry diary at times, the setting and world building are shallow, and both are flat naratively. Locations aren't really described or built up because they likely weren't even thought of and when you picture the scenes they have no spirit to them. Like take M.H. Johnson's The Silver Fox and Western Hero? The cultivator wear Gi, Qipaios, or other period specific stuff that is pointed out tastefully. The architecture is described and even the landscape. I just want to point out, if you didn't know already, but locations, like cities, are characters themselves that need their own character development. Towns here are just that... towns without descriptions of much at all. It's lazy.

Crazy stuff. No reincarnation? No super power? No hidden grandpa? No OP system? But it's still better than 99% of all other Wuxia novels out there?! Amazing how good a classic Chinese genre can be with solid story telling and relatable characters.

For only one chapter..I can tell this will be a good Wuxia style novel.

Novel feels hollow, like there are no likable character the chances for any depth to characters are ignored. Every woman the MC meats just starts interacting with him and getting closer to him no mater of his social status and the story is jumping from place to place he was at the village you expect village life no it jumps to the sect you expect sect life it jumps to him roaming.
Somebody could probably like it to me it feels like it was a fast written story and the flaws ware glossed over instead of fixed.

I'm truly shocked that this novel isn't more popular because it's good, and I mean REALLY good.
Cultivation is really unique, interesting and fun.
Fight scenes so far aren't just "Haha, I'm 2 stages above you, you have no chance at beating me!!!" or two people throwing skills at each other until one of them dies. They don't go on for 10+ chapters of characters just powering up every time they're about to lose. They are pretty quick, and because most abilities can be used in different ways they're fun.
World building is good, though I do have to say that names and descriptions of sects and cities are on a simpler side. (Which I honestly prefer, since remembering them is much easier that way, at least for me)
Harem and romance are REALLY good. So far it's one of the best harems i've ever read, and trust me i've read a lot. Harem members actually interact between each other, and it seems like later on they'll even go on adventure by themselves, without MC.
MC cares about his women, notices when they're in a bad mood and tries to make them feel better, actually has character, and is a really likeable person.
Smut and R-18 stuff is quite nice. Scenes aren't rushed, they don't feel out of place, and there's always a decent build-up before them. The only problem is that there aren't many of them, but there will be more later on.

To put it simply this novel is simply boring and lacks depth
The MC starts off in a village, nothing special about it, nothing described nobody introduced, and then he's off to the sect. Once again there is little to no real plot that happens besides the author stating that he is getting closer with 2 girls from the sect. He then proceeds to go to this competition with one of the girls resulting in him getting an inheritance making him a little more like an actual MC. After he gets the inheritance he decides he needs to go on an adventure for some reason and leaves the sect abandoning the sect route. This last part is what makes little sense to me. Why even bother with the sect beginning if he's just going to leave it like that along with the so called "relationship" he had with the girls. It seems to me the book should have just started out with him stumbling upon the inheritance and let the novel go from there. It's still early but the MC has zero direction and there seems to be no real plot or story for the MC to travel on.
Admittedly I haven't read that far so its somewhat understandable for the story not to have much direction or plot yet, but the real deal breaker here is the lack of any sort of detail in the book. The interactions with the women are just bland blanket statements like; "they talked for a while and got closer". The dialogue is very little or sometimes non-existent. The events that happen play out like a quick summary with no depth or detail. The fights are just boring sentences like "He fought for 30 minutes and won".
Usually a book would choose a couple aspects to focus on while forgoing others which is fine, but the author chose to just get rid of it all together. The characters have no depth, the world building is blank, all events are a summarized snooze fest, and all the fights might as well be "the MC won the fight, it was tough"
To the other reviews saying to give it a go, ide advise otherwise. It would be one thing if this novel was still active and has a chance at redemption, but with the author calling it a "slow start" and it being on hiatus, I have no faith that this story manages to turn around in the next 100 chapters.
