I won’t sweat the small details, as I’ve told the author plenty on that, and will instead move on to the review briskly without need to explain previous volumes.

This volume expands on the plot of the overall story quite a bit with different goals of different people swimming about and each taking spotlight at moments. Though we have gotten hints of this in the past, it shines more so in this volume with characters’ goals coalescing and conflicting with one another. Perhaps the reason it does so here is due to the fact that most of the individuals involved have already been introduced (with only 1 or 2 truly new characters), and the fact that we are given more information on the series' ‘big bad guy’ and his plans and vision a contrast to the main characters’ ‘idealism’.

The plot of the volume itself is structured nicely, and well paced for the most parts, though some things stand out as in need of editing. For one, Uehara and Amagi were entirely useless to the plot and character developments in the first-half of the story. A curse of writing harem stories, perhaps, but not something unfixable. As it is, for now, they functioned more as cameos in the beginning. For two, though the overall story is well-paced, some parts are not and feel as though they drag on for far too long. I won’t spoil anything, but you should know them when you reach them.

Once more, the story follows the struggles of a new potential-harem member and her shackles in conjunction to the MC’s own; a foil to him in some ways. It focuses on Yui Kimura, someone who has appeared in previous volumes, but now takes the center stage. Her character develops swimmingly with a beginning of her world views being challenged by the MC, a middle of doubt caused by problems arising due to her own actions and perceived insufficiencies, and an end of clarity in which she breaks away from the darkness of lies and into the truthfulness of light, making right from wrong. Though her personality remains the same crass, direct, and sometimes bratty individual (which I actually liked more often than not), she grows into a person who is more aptly qualified to take on the world and the weight of being alive.

To me, the most interesting character in this volume was Yui’s manager, Utara Reiya. I think, more than anyone else, she was the only one I couldn’t predict what direction she would move in accurately. She was an individual who doubted herself and her world view while still pushing on, shackled to the past. If there was only one tip I could give the author on her, however, it would be to have at least one scene where she and Yui clash, confronting each other with conflicting wishes and goals, with Yui having to make sense of the fact that the woman wasn’t who she originally thought she was (not exactly having her best intentions at heart), and the fact that she would now, truly, be alone with a fake facade to show the world (until she’s reminded of Arata and his friends, of course). I think that was what was most lacking in their relationship, even more so as it would contrast with Reiya’s previous scenes of worry over the girl. So, to clarify, as it is right now, the two never had the chance to interact with one another with their true thoughts about one another and their separate, but coalescing, goals, and I believe that’s a big, missed opportunity.

The weakest part of the story is still grammar, word choice, and sentence/paragraph structure. As good as it is for a webnovel, it is still sorely lacking for my tastes and I could, if I wanted to, nitpick this aspect of the series for hours on end. I simply won’t as anyone with functional eyes and brain can simply read a couple paragraphs and decide for themselves. After all, I tend to have quite a high bar when it comes to a story’s prose, so most of my complaints could simply be the case of enjoying five-star cuisines over decent home-cooked meals. A preference, if you will.

So did I like the volume? Naturally, I did. It won’t blow your socks off but, if you’ve read the previous two and enjoyed them, then you’ll enjoy this one too.

This is my favorite volume so far.

To start, this novel focuses on the Yuki-tan and her manager, Reiya Utara's life. I must say this volume is about self-reflection, insecurities and sacrifices. This is hard for me as Yuki-tan is best girl for me now. Sorry, Amagi but you're still the best for me too 👏👏👏

5/5 - This is a great read on the idol's chapter.
