Status: chapter 20: the book (final)

This story is incredibly ambitious and unique. Based on the synopsis and the contents so far, it seems like the author is aiming very high with this story. And, as of this point in the story, they are absolutely delivering.

The first book of this story, the Prologue to Chapter 20, is almost completely dedicated to establishing the main character's character. As stated in the synopsis, the hero tries again and again to set things right before giving up absolutely everything in a final, desperate gamble. These chapters completely focus on the internal conflicts the main character experiences as a consequence to her final gamble, and this story explores these consequences on a scale unseen in (most likely) any other story on ScribbleHub.

After the prologue, the story begins with the main character remembering all of their previous lives all at once, including everything that comes with it. From then until Chapter 20, the story focuses on the MC working through all of her trauma, insecurity, stress, depression, and self-derision that comes with remembering all of her previous failures. The story also focuses on the MC coming to terms with her new self and the consequences of remembering her lost identity. Some spoiler-free examples include her trying to use abilities she can no longer use, her trying to take advantage of strength she no longer has, and her trying to rely on "common sense" that no longer applies to her. And, because the author is developing her complex MC in a way that is realistic to her situation, these internal conflicts are not handwaved away at the end like a simple magic trick. The MC is only beginning to work through everything. The author's framing and writing of these internal conflicts is given so much description, consideration, and careful thought, that there (most likely) isn't anything like it on this website.

Other than the excellent character development, Book 1 honestly doesn't have much else to talk about. The chapters until Chapter 20 are so focused on character development that not much focus is given on anything else. Book 1 feels more like an extended pilot instead of a complete book. However, this does not mean that the story will always be lacking on this regard. There is plenty of setup, buildup, intrigue, and foreshadowing done in the story so far that will result in great payoffs in the future. All that's left to do is to wait until the author starts releasing the schedule chapters of the already completed Book 2 to see how the other aspects of the story develop.

Regardless of the incomplete feeling of Book 1, this story so far deserves a high rating for the incredibly descriptive and considerate character writing alone, with seemingly much more coming in the near future.

Extra Note: If anyone is curious, I wrote a much longer, much more spoiler heavy comment of my thoughts and expectations about this story on "Chapter 20: The Book (Final)." This comment is very, VERY spoiler heavy, so I don't recommend you read it until you finish that chapter.

This story is honestly awesome. Most stories where the main character has memories from past lives present the past experiences simply as an advantage. This story also deals with the downsides. I like everything about it really.

You should mind the tags though. If you don't like a weak protagonist then this probably isn't for you. Oh, and the story gets pretty dark sometimes, so if you want read something light and fun, this is not what you are searching for.

If you are, however, looking for a story that is well written and engaging, where some typical isekai-type fantasy tropes are implemented in a realistic way, then you will probably like this.

One of my first that I read on this site, thank you for it, it was a really fun journey.

I can just imagine Joan and everybody just living with Vivian, she gets the family she never had, just going on new adventures now that everything's been wrapped up, she really deserves it.

Honestly this is just really good. The characters have been done well, the story is fun and doesn't get bogged down like some of the other good fics out there, THEERE IS CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT (squee!), sure there are some spelling errors but they are far and few between and most of the earlier chapters have been edited and fixed, the premise is also really fun (makes you want to try and figure out the certain details and lore stuff, dunno I've just re-read it and have had a awesome time exploring some of the lore that is tucked away. Not many fics do that, they just shove it right in your face then ignore it completely after.)

All in all this is a great story that can be read more than once without losing it's shine

A terrific novel about reincarnating hero that's done it thousand of times without past life knowledge and fail. In return for past memory the hero sacrifice his power and reincarnate one more time as ordinary human.

It's not a story of OP rewind time fix. The newly ordinary hero must introspect taken choice and their true self when the past memory fall short of useful. New challenge and weakness and other insurmountable hardship await our hero in the ultimate life as ordinary human. The niche combination of transgender-adventure-medieval fantasy make this a different and refreshing read.

I am not an expert. So I rate with my gut feeling and it say that this is one of the best I've ever read.  My head and heart tell me to give this story five star.

This is a good story, well written and it flows well. Fairly likeable characters and the premise is cool, but it really feels like only part of a story rather than a whole book itself. Overall I enjoyed it and want to read the next part.

Read it if you like the premise.

As there is more to the story coming in the form of another book or several, it's good that the rest is coming, just treat this as part 1 of a single book, rather than the first in a series.

      Thanks to MelodyAdvant!

Very interesting premise, execution so far is well done in its early phases. I look forward to future developments, this is a story to bookmark for future reading if you don't wish to dive in yet. I reserve my rating until the novel gets more fleshed out.

Review will be edited as the story goes further.

Its really, really good. I read the entire thing in just under 2 days, and I think (with the 550k word length) that's telling to how well this series captured and kept my undivided attention.

Very well written! It's really one of a kind.

One of the most absorbing novels I've read so far.
