Knights

  • The fairy knights can be identified by their thick light-tan jacket and pants. They wear a belt with a fairy depicted on the buckle. A dark-brown cloak adorns their backs. All of their clothing has a golden-yellow trim along the seams.

  1. Glendale Farley: He is a human and is the captain of the fairy knights. A shield-shaped badge with a fairy depicted on his adorns his chest. He has slicked back black hair that is starting to grey. His wrinkled face reveals his old age, but his blue eyes are more intense than when he first became a knight. He can use the terra element.
  2. Aiko Isolt: She is a cat-girl with immaculate, shoulder length black-black hair. She has a sleek face, cute appearance, and a large bosom. Her by-the-book personality allowed her to rise to the position of lieutenant for the fairy knights.
  3. Lloyd Hamilton: He is a human with messy blonde hair that is pointed up in the front. He has a handsome face complimented by his sky-blue eyes, and a well-built figure. His foolish and careless acts cause the knights to pick on him. He often gets compared to his best friend Noah, though he’ll never admit it.
  4. Noah Mustang: He is a human with short red hair that curls to his right. He has sharp red eyes and an intimidating face, with a scar going through his left eyebrow. He is tall and has a muscular build, and due to often getting compared to his best friend Lloyd, he looks even better. He is a true knight among the knights. He can use the water element.
  5. Kari Jaketta: She is an elf with long, wavy orange hair, it is in a side ponytail on her left while braids cover the right of her head. She has rosy white skin, flush cheeks, large green eyes, a small nose, and a slim smile. She is the field medic for the knights. She can speak Annic and can use the air element.
  6. Camille Madan: She is a human, and the youngest member of the knights. She has a soft face, plump cheeks, and wide brown eyes. Her light brown hair is up in a ponytail with a single small braid on the left side of her head. She gets nervous around fairies, causing her to stutter when she talks with Evetta. She is extremely proud to be a knight and takes her duties very seriously, earning her respect from the others. She can use the metal element.
  7. Turok Sarpire: He is a wolf-man with white hair. He has a slender build, droopy green eyes, three scars under his left eye, and a twisted face. His white tail and ears are red at the tips. His fierce and standoffish attitude cause others to avoid him, but he also has a deep hatred toward Evetta.
  8. Samina Tailene: She is a short rabbit-girl. She has long, curly brown hair, large blue eyes, and snow-white skin. Her easily excitable personality and curious nature lead her to ask Evetta tons of questions. She can use the ice element.
  9. Oberon Beroldus: He is a burly bear-man and the tallest member of the knights. He has a sturdy figure, round black eyes, and thick eyebrows. He is a devoted follower of the Church of the Fairy Queens and truly believes the fairies will save them.
  10. Garrick Gluzbree: He is a grey-skinned orc. He is bald, has a rough face, and a large underbite. Due to his large lower canines, he speaks with a thick accent. He has small eyes hidden under his pronounced forehead. He has a well-built body, second only to Oberon. He is usually with his friend Skeezo. He can use the terra element.
  11. Skeezo Grumplebutt: He is a tiny green-skinned goblin. He has stringy black hair, large pointed ears, a large nose, and bright yellow eyes. He has sharp fangs and nails. People often misjudge him due to his appearance, but Skeezo is, to most, the nicest knight. He merely had a rough childhood.
  12. Seth Jittergist: He is a human, and the older twin. He has a flat nose, large brown eyes, long straight black hair, and a short beard. He is a follower of the Church of the Fairy Queens and has studied fairies since he was a child with his younger brother. He can use the electricity and terra elements.
  13. Simon Jittergist: He is a human, and the younger twin. He has a flat nose, large brown eyes, long braided black hair, and a short beard. He follows the Church of the Fairy Queens and tries to further his knowledge of fairies. He can use the terra element.
  14. Vincent: A human knight that perished in the Golcarres Forest.

This one is worth a read.  The first thing I noticed is that this fiction has chapters on the longer length for scribble hub.  Expect most chapters to take close to an hour to read.  The good:There is a lot of content here.  It is really obvious that the author put a lot of effort into this work. Not a lot of fairy gender bender stories are on scribble hub.  This one is one of the better ones.  The author writes a lot from first person with a very limited view of what is going around. It is not a very common style and if the idea was to make things seem uncertain and unknown this story goes a good job of that. The Bad:I really didn't like the action scenes.1.) I've seen the 'gank' trope and it soured the story after the first physical confrontation. To be fair, there is foreshadowing but it steel feels like a ganking.  Personally preference but I actually hate it when a MC goes from full health to defeated in a super short amount of time.  There were hints but I felt like they were too vague, too ambiguous.  The way everything came together came across as incredibly forced in that first conflict.  a.) wasn't the forest supposed to be incredibly dangerous?  b.) they go 6mo without seeing a single person and then two groups show up the same day or two, why?A lot of things just get left hanging out there.  It is not really a plot hole but I felt the same kind of impression in spots.2.) Needlessly tossing unwieldy amounts of named characters. This happens at least twice.  The knights group has a lot of names that a reader can't really be expected to remember.  The story's characters started to get really hard to follow for that mini arc. It isn't even really needed because some of them play such a small role. This happens again with the introduction of a lot of faeries.  There are too many for me to be expected to remember.  To make things even more difficult there are as many different kinds of faeries as elements.  I think there are 12 elements?  And fairies can have more than one element so what is that 12 factorial combinations?  How much is that?  Anyway, hopefully that gets the point across.3.) Action scenes. Maybe it is just me but they don't read well.  I found them jarring and in some spots got in the way of progressing the story.  Why should the reader care about a tournament?   It has nothing to do with the main character's goals so it just come a cross as blurry filler.  Also I found them difficult to follow. That being said, the good outweighs the bad.  Even with a coup sour spots I was invested enough in the story to make it to the end and that speaks more than anything else.
