Liam has been having a difficult time in college; for some reason, he just hasn't felt "all there." He turns down his best friend's invitation to the homecoming party to work on homework and sulk instead. However, a chance encounter with a faery gives Liam a chance to attend the party "as someone else." In this case, that means going as a girl! This sudden shift awakens some new feelings in Liam, including feelings about his best friend.
