Don't be fooled by the short synopsis: this novel is deceptively good and the short description doesn't the story any justice unless you read it yourself. Reincarnation of Alysara is a truly immersive fantasy novel with fantastic world building and a realistic, logical main character that you could relate with. The story follows the main character who is reincarnated into a world by a god. There's no OP power or anything balance-breaking given. Alysara only starts a relatively normal starter bonus, with everything she gains after being purely her own efforts and struggles. 

The novel is a slow-burn story, with it following Alysara's growth and progress through life from being a baby, child, and teenager. There's constant progress of the story despite the slow paceand the world-building is gradually told throughout all the chapters rather than any dense info dumps on the reader. This novel is very realistic in that there's no plot armor felt. There's no isekai protagonist ticket that lets her smoothly get everything she needs. Real consequences and dangers are shown for Alysara and sacrifices sometimes have to be made for her own goals or wishes.

Everyone around the main character has a real influence on her, as should be the case for any child, isekai protagonist or not. Her family is there to nurture her as she grows while the community around her gives her a sense of belonging and purpose of life. All of them are well written characters with the own indivuduality. They have proper backgrounds, history, and and personalities which helps bring realism to the story.

The potential for this story is really great, with all the world building showing that what is currently shown is but a very small, isolated corner of the world. As of now, the story is still in its early stage, following the childhood growth of Alysara. For how it'll continue after is still left to be told, with only hints here and there about how it will be.

Man, this story went so far beyond my expectations. I got here through the 'Blind Protagonist' tag, and got intrigued because the summary mentioned the protagonist learning to see through sensing mana, so I decided to give it a go.

So first off, to discuss some of the tags. While this story does have the Gender Bender tag the story doesn't go into that topic too much. It's there but has little to no effect. The Isekai tag is also not too relevant, apart from it making Aly a child with the maturity of an adult, and giving her ideas that people from this fantasy world wouldn't come to.

The Futanari tag might scare some people away, but I implore those people to ignore that tag. Contrary to a lot of stories with that tag, this one isn't smut, isn't ecchi, hell, it isn't even romance.

This story isn't a fast-paced action story. It has a somewhat slow pace, and tends to focus on Alysara studying mana or trying to grow stronger. The story does grow into a story with more fighting later on, but that takes a good 50 chapters.

A lot of stories would become incredibly stale and boring if they were just the protagonist studying something for like 50 chapters with only some interactions with other characters and very few action scenes in between, but this one makes it work because of its worldbuilding.

Not only is the magic system incredibly detailed compared to most other stories with a similar setting, but because we learn about this system alongside Alysara, we learn about it even more in-depth than most other characters in this story. It also helps that it doesn't feel like you're just watching from the sidelines. You learn about this system alongside Aly. Any setback to her feels like a setback for you and any success for her feels like one for you.

Of course, there's more to the world than just that system, but learning about this world is probably best enjoyed alongside Aly. I could go on about this story for a long while, but I'm not here to write a book. So to conclude, I thoroughly recommend this story to basically anyone.

I think Aly is associated with solitude for the best, from the beginning she was different from everyone else, loneliness is part of her color.

One day Aly will become a great creature, even an immortal, like it or not she will have to leave behind family, friends, and more (unless her evolution doesn't extend her lifespan).

I think that's the price to pay for her growth, it will all be just memories and romance or love that doesn't suit Aly and the story.

Just my personal opinion but I don't like Aly's story turning to romance and love with Tana or with other male characters, a beautiful friendship is best. Her intrinsic is loneliness and it makes her special.

A lovely story so far. I'd give it a 4.8/5 or so if I could, but it's worth the 5 stars.

The pros:

The main character is likable, logical, and has actual empathy toward others. (Uncommon in the the reincarnation genre) Alysara is quite powerful, but not in an obnoxious way - she's quite grounded, and thinks about her community and family more often than not. There's a price for her talent, and it's not sailing through life easily. There are a few cases where she pulls inventions and novel idea out with unnatural quickness, but this makes sense, and it isn't overwhelming in the narrative.

The worldbuilding is amazing. You really feel like Alysara is living in a real place. Her people have innate skills that make sense with their history, and their general strengths and weaknesses just add to that. The presence of futanari makes sense, and isn't just a thrown in kink. There's real attachment to her family, and the local culture influences her. I look forward to seeing how the greater world works, and how the culture clash between races might pan out.

The magic system caught me off guard at first, but it's grown on me. More importantly, it's consistent and has enough variety to keep things fresh.

The cons:

There are some grammar errors here and there, but I think this is a case where the author has improved over time.

A few chapters are a little excessive with the skill-ups and stats.

There are times where characters' tones are very similar. A goddess might speak like an elder who might speak like a parent. It's only really noticeable occasionally.

Overall: It's really worth a read through. I binged the story in a few days and can't wait for more.

What is there that hasn't been said by other reviews?

This is almost the perfect 'scientific' take on mana. The MC is legitimately very intelligent whilst remaining believable and grounded. She is undeniably powerful but never feels OP, she excels in her field but is understandably a loner which is even reflected in her abilities.

Unlike other novels that attempt a 'genius scientist' protagonist, here we actually see the 'science' happening, rather than hearing about the unrealistic results after a random amount of time.

I personally love the way the plot is going the latest chapters and can't wait for more

Minor cons:

Some characters feel forgettable and unnecessary, their naming doesn't help

Dungeon arc is a repetitive slog that drags on for far too long is some parts

MC's research feels underutilized in combat, would be nice to spice it up to be more than fairies, spears and protective gear. Maybe mana storm grenades? Javelins that destabilize mana/vitality? Just something to make combat more interesting

There are just not enough chapters for this story. It's the first time a story has captivated me so much that no metter what I could not stop reading it. It has the best power system that I saw to this day, and it even explains it with so much detail and with a good logic that no metter how much of the novel it is just describing Alysara descoverings of the world and it's forces I could not make myselfe skip even a paragraph. 

It has such a good world and power setting that even if the characters and everything else was bland (which is not) it would be worth reading. And a plus from me this novel so far has very little political games and things like that.

So, I read up until chapter 65.

First of all, this is a reincarnation isekai in a world with an RPG-like system. The autor, however, avoided most of the traps that most isekai fall in and made a lot of world-building without cutting the flow of the story. For that alone, I recommend it to you.

I like to start with the negative, so here it is.

The main problem I have until now is the writing. A lot of errors in the sentences make me reread some paragraph twice to understand what the author meant (for example a double negation when he only meant a negation), and sometimes things are not clear. This, unfortunately, is enough for me to subtract 1 point.

The second problem is a minor one. Sometimes, the protagonist make decision that make her contradict herself. However, people DO contradict themselves in real life, so I have no issue with that. You may even not notice on the first read.

And... that's it for the negative..

Now for the positive.

As I said earlier, this novel avoid most of the traps isekai fall in, especially reincarnation ones. For example, the protagonist have her memories from her past life, but most of them are basically sealed and she'll unlock those little by little. This permit to avoid the classical 'knowledge cheat' route that is so much abused in a lot of novels while giving the possibility to the protagonist to introduce some idea from time to time.

This is also well implemented in the story, as, again, it come bit by bit instead of all at once, and as there are passage where the protagonist has strange familiarity with concept he doesn't fully understand until the memory get unlocked.

The character growth, both as getting better at things and as growing up, is on the slow side compared to most reincarnation novels. At chapter 65, the protagonist is 10 year old, and we got a lot of content of her early days and when she was 5.

This permit to have time for world-building, especially the magic system, to get introduced without being thrown at your face while feeling out of the place nor cutting the flow of the story. It also give you a sense of the efforts and sacrifice the protagonist had to get those abilities that make him powerful and time to get attached to him and his surrounding.

Also, even if it's told quite clearly in recent chapter that the protagonist has a lot of potential and is really good at what she excel at, it is also hinted and shown regularly that, from the point of view of this world, she is far from being a powerhouse... which is logical, as the protagonist is, again, still 10 year old at chapter 65.

I'll try to avoid spoilers, but the civilisation she live in is a peaceful group of island tribes isolated from the rest of the world due to the extreme environment and climate they live in. The population of the said tribes are united in religion in a culture that favour sports, commerce and craftsmanships over warfare and conflict.

And even in such peaceful country, while there are good peoples, there is also peoples that want to use the protagonist for their ambitions, peoples that are jealous of her, and peoples that are against the changes the protagonist brought and want to go back to the old ways... Which is great.

This kind of relationship change a lot, in a good way, from both the cynical manipulative entourage route (peoples act good to the protag only to manipulate him, and generally betray him when he isn't useful any-more) and the boring 777 lucky protagonist encounters (here a good willed merchant that will ABSOLUTELY NOT abuse of the protag lack of common sense, there an influential person that get indebted to the protag and will from now on protect the protag from evil nobles schemes, here a master that want to train the protag because why not...).

The diversity in relationship between the protagonist and others is far more interesting with this diversity, even if the protagonist is quite a closed person.

So, my conclusion: if like most peoples that read web novels you don't mind too much errors in writings and you like slower paced novels that get the time to make a lot of world-buiding, read this novel.
