Jonathan Rosewood, along with newfound friends Simon and Sarah, ends up in a school for the magically gifted, meeting all kinds of magical people and creatures.
Some of them can turn into animals, and some can perform incredible feats of magic — as long as they have a familiar by their side — and they're all being trained to defend the worlds from evil spirits that break through from the other side.
But not everything is as it seems, the gang realizes, as a world built on secrets is slowly revealed to them.
So many feels ? When reading, I can't help wanting to protec the kid. Especially as their growing up experiences (or lack thereof) are relatable - even if just in an exaggerated way.

This is one of my favorite stories on Scribblehub. It's a slow burner, but I genuinely enjoy the way it deals with it's characters and the world. Jonathan is an absolute sweetheart. A wounded soul that looks out for others more than he cares for himself. I think what really makes this story special is it takes tired old tropes and ideas and breathes precious life into them.
Also we all need a wiggly goofball ferret boy in our lives.
