Earth has been chosen as the 68th crystal farm of an alien life form. These crystals power all of their technology, however they have to first grow and mature inside a host body. Effectively turning that host into a zombie who only focuses on infecting others and growing more crystals.

As if this wasn’t bad enough, the aliens expect us humans to kill these zombies and harvest their crystals in exchange for supplies and weapons. But apparently the human race is so weak that weapons alone wouldn’t be enough, so they had to introduce foreign DNA on earth in order for us to even put up a fight.

But of course in order to use these dormant genes, we first have to buy awakeners from the crystal shop… What a bunch of profiteers…
