This was a very interesting read and I plan to go on to read the sequel. I won't lie, many things fell flat for me, mainly the characters. Their backgrounds and their actions didn't really mesh for me but I kept reading. Why? Good question. I don't know haha.
The author has a lovely way of writing that just keeps you reading. The plot was nice. I did love the female lead's powers (didn't like em speaking tho) and that was like icing on the cake. The one star off is mainly because of the grammar. The grammar mistakes in this novel were enough to give me a whiplash. Lemme explain:
The author is beautiful at describing things and does that with a unique flair. However, when the author starts going into the character thoughts, she/he mixes up the pronouns. And because of the perfect (subjective) grammar so far (like 5 chapters straight), your brain screeches to a halt. Hence, the whiplash. And the chapters are hella long (huge plus). The grammar mistakes are actually very rare, don't get me wrong but boy, are they obvious.I will recommend this to anyone who loves intense romances, a powerful female lead and an interesting plot.
