I got reincarnated. As an ordinary fox.
No, that's wrong.
As a powerful mystical fox. In a world of cultivation.
What is cultivation you ask?
It's training like Marvel's Dr. Strange.
To gain powers like X-Men.
Strength, Speed, Fire, Ice, Lightning, Telekinesis, Regeneration, Etc., Etc.
This is the story of what came after, when I woke up fuzzy and tailented.
With a whole new world to explore, and resist conquering.
. . . Nah!
It's a decent novel. It's quite hard to follow at times and the flow seems a bit all over the place but that is redeemed by what seems to be a very thought-out world and power system.
The thing that really sucked me in, however, is his unique ability "Barrier". It lets him create a barrier/forcefield that only blocks certain things, for example, an enemy. I'm a sucker for cool abilities and this one got me hooked instantly, ranking very high on my top abilities list.
The lackluster part though is the lack of experimenting. The MC uses the barrier for very obvious and shallow things like throwing away an enemy or flying with it like a hoverboard.
Just a few potential uses that I thought of on the spot are:
- blocking / moving the blood inside enemies.
- blocking only eyes and then popping the eyes out of enemies.
- blocking light, sound, etc to block the senses of an enemy.
- creating a vacuum (surely can be useful somehow lol)
The author has clearly put thought and time into the power system as a whole so it's sad to see them not take that next step.
