Synopsis

Arn is recruited by an all-powerful government organization to spy on a small remote village. He is ecstatic to be finally worthy of this right of passage.

But his world gets upended when the Rebel Clans come after him as well.

Then there are his visions - dreams of a winter forest, an unkindness of ravens, and the shadow of a massive presence that remains just beyond his consciousness.

Persecuted by the Clans and The Inspectorate, he joins a strange man with unbelievable powers and a peculiar ability to always be at the right place and time.

Story Profile:

The final draft of the first book is completed in its entirety. I edit 2+ chapters each week and post them here.

This book is written as a traditional novel to play out before the reader's eyes. There is rich lore and deep intrigue - all mapped out.

The magic and power build up slowly and there are few battles. The conflict is instead in the intrigue and magical beings that vie to control the fate of the world.

I am a traditional visual artist and have created the map myself, as well as other illustrations which I will periodically add to the story.

Yamazaru's review of Void And Flame Series.

This will be covering the Prologue - Chapter 4

Simple Explanation of the Story: Young Boy Arnyrath (Known as Arn) is recruited by a government organization as a spy, his job is to monitor a remote village.

This story works great as a late night read with New York Bar Jazz in the background. Void and Flame is like a mix of Medieval stories, primarily Norse, with splashes of modern day themes. Void and Flame is very rich in storytelling and writing, managing to hook a reader just at the prologue.

Prologue: This part doesn't focus on Arn, instead, it focuses of De'al and Enloth. The Prologue makes you get a feel of the world of Void and Flame, as well as the nature of characters. A glimpse of Magic is shown in an uncommon way, through drinking a tea, warming the insides of a body in a cold habitat.

Chapters 1 -4: These parts focus on Arn of the Stonefather Clan. And his involvement in the government organization. Arn has to go Westward, described as a terrifying place. Themes of government control are prevalent in these 4 chapters. And again, the richness in  storytelling and writing enhances the story.

Void of Flame is a very good read for an Adventurer or Fantasy reader. And I think you should read it too. I give this story a 5/5.

    That's all folks!
