Civil War has raged on the Al-Shan Archipelago for the past four decades, only recently coming to an end with the enthronement of the new Emperor.
This is not his story.
The Blood Demon, renowned general of said civil war, is tired of all the fighting and politicking that has described the last four decades of her existence. All she really wanted to do now is to go out into the world and see the many lands from her father's stories.
Thus she retired. And went and did exactly what she wanted.
This is the story of what happens when you toss a (retired) war machine with somewhat lacking common sense into an unsuspecting world at peace.
Chapters will range from 1-2.5k words, scheduled for release every day from Monday to Friday.
First time posting a story on Royal Road here, hoping you folks will enjoy.
Expect:
-slow going slice of life with occassional faster paced action
-world building
-detailed anecdotes on the world, its races, the magic system, and whatnot every now and then
Do not expect:
-romance, other than maybe some passing mentions
-politics, again, barring passing mentions

Based on the synopsis you would expect the MC to be socialy inept but powerfull leading to some amusing or horrifying moment maybe even some fluff too.
This is not the case. The MC is closer to a Mary Sue who excel at everything she choose to do. She is the greatest general and warrior, a great mage, a great surrogate mother, a great cook etc... etc...
The author explain that by saying that she is hundred year old due to being from a long lived race. However that mean that there is no room to grow. For all 15 chapter that I read the MC has not show any need for improvement IN anything leading to a boring story to read.
Also can we stop with the food porn in novel this is one cliché that I will never understand. Never in my life have I been or seen someone behave like they are climaxing while eating. It's just food. Yes it can be good but you're not gonna stain your underwear.
Now for the good of the story, the chapter are decently long, the worldbuilding seems though-out and detailed. It's also not fed to you through massive wall text instead you learn a bit of it every chapter. The MC magical ability sound interesting (she is esentially virtualy invincible so long as she has mana it seems).
The story and character are average, nothing new or special (very comparable to many japanese isekai op story but without romance which is great) however the writing is very good and so is the worldbuilding it seems.

This is an entire story built as what would be the epilogue in another. Its all about exploring a fantastic world, seeing incredible sights, and eating strange foods.
Its fairly chill, the characters are great, and the world is really interesting.

Overall, a very soothing and relaxed story. Has all the world-building and backstory you need, plus fun interactions and characters. A VERY slow "plot" as it mostly focuses on seasonal events and not action or adventure storylines. Very nice to read as a break from faster paced and more intense works. 10/10
