I like the author's writing style but, it's a chore to read with 5-6 different characters and having to keep track of all the different story lines. If it were 2-3 POV'S I would give it 5 stars but any more then that is too much for my lazy reading.

A really beautiful but visceral story at its early stages of being crafted. It follows a young warrior as he explores himself, his tribe, and the world through the eyes of those who follow the way. At least that's my take so far.

The flow of the story is both frustrating and lovely. I wish we spent more time with certain people/places and wish we'd move on faster from others. There's a solid mix of fantasy/real from all sorts of Earth cultures and so far they mesh quite well.

I think that there could be more creativeness in the naming of other cultures as they don't need to be taken exactly as they are from earth. There's some great stuff being done with themes ranging from one's changing identity in society to things like finding balance within oneself and learning to love yourself.

There's plenty more to dig through but I've enjoyed the trip thus far.
