"Of course my avatar should be female, they have better armor models!" That was George's creed when playing games that allowed for character customization.
Following his completion of a difficult achievement in a popular RPG, George receives a suspicious invitation to join a closed beta for an upcoming project. Against his better judgement he decides to register and starts playing with the character creator. Upon finalizing his character he finds himself whisked away into the world depicted by the game client.
Forced to start over as an infant, and inhabiting the body of his created avatar, George now finds himself attracting the eyes of gods, demons, and the nobility as he tries to navigate his NewLife(tm) and come to terms with the body he created.

I've been reading quite a lot of stories in the last few months, but none has captured my interest so strongly as Tricked. Therefore, I decided to leave my first review on this site.
The plot is engaging, the world building is cool and the protagonist, while smart and powerful, is not invincible and don't just trumps her opponents easily as is the case in so many stories of isekai genre. It's refreshing to see a strong protagonist to be done in a way that she's not Mary Sue. She's actually being a realistic person with her emotions and mistakes rather than a wish-fulfilling avatar of the author.
Political intrigues, noble scheming and behavior, society values is also something that's usually shown on a surface level, but this story does it quite well, in my opinion. In conclusion, I give it 10/10 or whatever the highest rating is and keep reading until the eventual finale.

This is a strange book that some may like and others not, though despite the authors claims of not relying on things unexplained or random occurrences, the dumbing down of the MC in order to move the plot forward is done in such a way that ruins the flow, and feels quite unnatural to what we were led to believe up till that point.
So if you are coming into the story like I was, I’d recommend just reading the first book and see if it’s something you either don’t mind or can bear!

A few weeks ago I happened to see this story on the recent updates and decided to check it out when I saw it had a bunch of tags that I usually enjoy. I expected to it to be another average isekai power fantasy that I could kill time reading, but instead I found one of the best written isekai I've found in quite some time.
The story is a reincarnation litrpg isekai where the MC is going from our world to live a new life use to the machinations of that worlds gods. The MC is well written and the the supporting characters all have enough depth to not make them one note archetypes. The author has obviously put a lot of thought into how this world works and it shows itself in both the lore that we've seen so far and how the system works. The system doesn't activate for everyone so people that have access to it end up a lot stronger, smarter, and more skilled than people that don't have access to it, which adds some tension to social dynamics in the world. The story does have quite a few tragic and violent moments so don't go in thinking it's going to be a happy feel good tale.
The grammar and dialogue are great for the most part. There are a few typos in every chapter but nothing that pulls you out of the narrative. All the characters except for one (who has her reasons), speak naturally and make good decisions based on the info they have at the time, so there's been nothing that makes me cringe or wonder why someone is behaving out of character.
All in all I've enjoyed this story a lot and look forward to seeing how things develop going forward.

Right, for those who like me want to know more about the story before jumping in and are on the fence, this is for you guys. Spoilers ahead.
Where to begin. The writing quality is brilliant. The chapters are very long, so you are getting far more than is advertised by the number of chapters.
So at the start of the novel, it starts out like your standard isekai where the MC becomes a knife wielding toddler. I completely enjoyed the start. Things became a little icky after the mc’s little sister is kidnapped, with a later engagement to a horrible guy who brainwashes everyone.
The sister is saved and seems to be recovering okish from the indoctrination, but honestly we don't see to much on that due to how much the MC is having to deal with. Still, the relationship is well written.
The brain washing does influence the MC which we find out quite a long time after, and causes her to incessantly blush which I do say I found rather annoying, but after thats all finished with, the novel picks back up. How that guy is ended is also hella satisfying despite the surrounding situation.
After all that the MC becomes far more dominant taking no nonsense which is both refreshing after the previous chapters and very satisfying.
The hardships the MC faces are all quite balanced and the plot development is honestly very well written. The whole brainwashing section might be a bit hard to stomach, but it is worth sticking with the novel.
I think that covers most of the things I wanted to know while reading, so if this pushes you to pick the novel up, go for it. This is 100% worth the read!

I've struggled to find a way to describe how I feel about this series, so I've decided to put it plainly. It starts out relatively average, and it becomes oh so much more.
If you stick with this story you almost certainly won't be disappointed. I could gush for a long time, but I'll just leave it with a strong suggestion you take time to read this gem.
