Warning!!! This story is loaded with rape and abuse (perpetrated mainly by the two main characters) and for some reason doesn't include those tags. And bullsh*t to this being labeled "reluctant protagonist". The protagonist in this is evil without remorse.

I found nothing compelling about the main characters. Abby and Candi are sociopaths who use and violate people in the most intimate ways possible physically and mentally. They are petty, manipulative, selfish, narcissistic, and abusive but the story treats them as If they aren't. There is a huge dissonance between the characters they are is presented as and who their actions make them out to be. As per usual with PCG novels characters gain fantastical abilities and become power abusing bullies that get away with everything simply for being cute.

 These two cunts do sinister things to everyone yet the story always pretends like they don't. They treat anyone that doesn't praise them worse than cattle. Abby will find or believe any excuse to do something awful. She convinces herself that her physical limitations make her a victim in a situation where those limits don't matter. Or she does terrible things  just because her girlfriend tells her to.

Abby's girlfriend Candi is just as much of an evil cunt as she is. The "slow romance" these two have is them instantly getting together without any build or conflict. With the rock solid core of there relationship being "we are both attractive".

Their justifications at best make them idiots and cowards but come across mostly as complete lies. A way for them to rationalize acting purely out of self interest and taking sick pleasure in objectifying people. They're just assholes that get away with everything. And are able to do so by gaslighting the audience. The narrative would fall apart if any other character was aloud to have perspective. The author either doesn't care or is painfully unaware of how evil these two are. The story seems to follow the logic that because it has video game elements then it's okay for the MC to treat everyone like an NPC. That it's okay to rape and exploit people if they say mean things.

Abby does terrible things and yet the audience is expected to feel bad for her when far less severe things happen to her. When Abby violates someone it's fun and kinky. But when Abby is merely threatened with violation it's scary. The greatest threat these two ever face is getting a taste of their own medicine. Total hypocrisy. Why the f**k should I care about the well being of people who have no compassion for anyone else? Especially when they fret about having done to them what they have done in excess to others. Stones in glass houses Abby you gangrenous goblin chode.

At multiple times I thought that maybe Abby would have the rug pulled out from under her but it never happens. And when a character whom Abby has enslaved, raped, objectified and lobotomized is finally free they act completely fine with everything that's been done to them.

This story breaks all logic to avoid painting its main characters in any negative light no matter what they do. Abby could murder someone's cat right in front of them and instead of that person getting upset they'd thank Abby for no longer having to feed it. Every moment of tension is completely hollow because the story won't allow Abby or Candi to ever think they've done wrong.

The story frames Abby as an underdog but she easily overpowers any challenge presented to her. They don't solve problems in clever or interesting ways. They just get lucky and are always sore f**king winners about it. Doing way worse to their victims that what is ever done them. While Candi and Abby walk a tight rope two feet of the ground they knock everyone else into the Grand Canyon.

All plot, characterization and world building is sacrificed for the sake of making the protagonist and her girlfriend the awesome center of everything. As a result no one has any characterization outside of their opposition to them. What little plot there is just a meaningless cycle with no goal. Just fight, rape, repeat.

The setting is nonexistent. We never learn anything about the school; Not even the names of any teachers or even basic environmental details. The story could be set anywhere from pseudo mid evil Europe to an alternate modern day. There is nothing to this setting beyond the words "magic s*x school".

Abby and Candi are parasites both to the other characters and to the story itself. I hope this doesn't get a continuation so I can have my head canon where these two get f**king lynched. Rot in hell you wretched soulless monsters.

Just finished the series I got to say I really loved it, got a a nice mix of plot shenanigans and good old smut. Whilst it has dark themes and situations it definitely is a nice middle great compared to other story which is nice. Can't wait to read the next book!
