Book 10 starts with chapter 699.
Earlier books available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08WF8SB71

Jason wakes up in a mysterious world of magic and monsters. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters, and that’s just the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

Follow Jason as he makes a place for himself in a world that is strange, yet sometimes strangely familiar. He’ll meet crime lords and aristocrats, gods and monsters on his path from would-be victim to heroic adventurer. At least, he tries to be heroic. It’s hard to be good when all your powers are evil.

Release schedule is 3 chapters per week, Mon-Wed-Fri USA time.

Please note: I am Australian and this story is written in Australian English, so there will be less of the letter Z and more of the letter U.

I like the power up system, it ain't just some exp stuff but more on mastery. And I think that's the best part of the novel, when Jason is exploring this new world and essences.

CONS would be the game interface. It's so overused that it swallows a huge chunk of evert chapter. Then the Party Interface came up, so that would be the same sh*tty skill descriptions again but multiplied by 6.

Jason's inner turmoils will start to be so annoying. Preaching his morality principles, political view against aristocracy and atheism. FFS just stop, we get it. Why don't you color your hair blue, gain that extra pounds and get a nose ring for that? My God he's insufferable most of the time. So he saved a girl from a critical predicament, yet she still kept punching him despite all that, that's how annoying he is.

Jason definitely isn't the typical Aussie bloke but he makes this novel amazingly fun to read. His interactions with the different characters always makes me laugh, espeically Hump.

I will be honest in saying that I enjoyed the first arc of the story in the new world. The power system was fresh and interesting, the characters were more than one dimensional and the plot had something going for it.

Then the "Coming back to Earth" arc came in and everything started going downhill.

His family was introduced after him talking about them a lot and they were just like described, only for them to be used as fuel to further his angsting.

The train of world ending problems keeps trucking along and doesn't give a single moment for our hero to take a breath.

Just last few chapters a series of coincidences allowed someone to copy how Jason gained his latest aspect of his powers with virtually no problem when he had to change his inherent nature as a being for it to happen.

Conclusion, the story was great but it seems to me like author has a certain endpoint in mind and doesn't mind f**king a good work for it to happen.

Love it. Probably the best web novel on this website. It's well written and characters are believable and entertaining. Solid world/lore/class/skills building as well. Not your usual Isekai and has alot originality. Once you start its hard to put down. 5/5.

I just want to put this out, as I have been holding it in for far too long.

This man and/or woman takes FAR too long to release a new chapter (They upload a minimum of 5 chapters a week), and I am having a VERY hard time waiting for the next chapter.

If someone is reading this and not caught up in the story, then what are doing here get caught up so you can suffer like I.

Very good, fun and reasonable. Excellent characters. The power system is extremely interesting.

A minor issue: the reduced weight skill. Reducing weight doesn't reduce gravity. The skill wouldn't let Jason fall any slower, unless he could go down to a fraction of a kilo and his body's air resistance started making a significant difference. He'd have to be that light to walk on water, too. But an entry level skill can already reduce his weight to at least a hundredth? What's the use in raising it? And he should be terribly fast if his muscles have so little weight to push.

A major issue: the perfect dialogue. It's odd. Unnatural. Every exchange between the main character and another character proceeds perfectly efficiently. In such a well-written story, the dialogue is too well-written on a surface level. There are no breaks, backtracks, or illogicalities, and the MC never truly has his worldview tested. Instead, conversations are always reasonable and easy. This is unrealistic and uninteresting. The world isn't so perfectly simple, and while an adventure in another world is a relaxing escape, making it so simple and perfect makes it boring. Every dialogue so far reminds readers that this story is the product of one author's imagination, and that this author empathizes heavily with the MC. Challenge the MC. Challenge yourself.

lol, looking forward to Australian English translation, I just hope the text won't be upside down.

UPDATE: So it's been 16 chapters since I posted my comment, so here comes the very basic review, the story looks very interesting, the MC is likeable, I especially like the fact that

    Spoiler

he actually told his companions  (as of chapter 16) that he is from another world,

    [collapse]
which is not something that happens often in any story that is about travelling to a different world. Other than that, I have nothing more to say, there isn't enough chapters to say anything else, I'll give 4/5 just because there isn't enough chaters.

Status: chapter 812 (morst recent patreon as...

I picked up book 1 on a 2 for 1 sale on Audible, once I finished I had to buy credits for books 2 and 3, then started reading the rest, and did not finish until I had read the last patreon chapter at the time (IIRC around the end of book 7). Not story related but the audio books are very well done, and it is worth picking up either them or the kindle versions to support the author.

The main character (Jason) is a half white rural Australian, half-Japanese underachiever how gets mystically abducted to a magical alternate earth and has to struggle to find his way and make connections in a whole new world. Starting with finding a pair of pants. People who have gone through this involuntary travel are very rare but not unheard of.

Unfortunately for him his coping mechanism is to make a lot of references people do not get, Fortunately for the reader that are almost all 80s on pop culture references and tend to be funny or at least amusing if you get the reference.

His other major issue is he has the moral views of a freedom loving 21st century Australian, but the world has moral views much closer to a medieval era earth, with a dominant hierarchy based on birth (nobility and royalty)   and Rank (the tier of magic power one has achieved) and people do not like being told they are wrong by their (perceived) lessers, and there regular conflict due to people trying to insist on following the worlds social structure, even when they were told not to. This is not a major part of the story, and comes up less as the story progresses.

The supporting cast is amazing, well except for Clive's wife she has issues, and the major characters all feel like actual people.

The story starts small, Jason just being an adventurer in a remote backwater city, and as the story progresses it gradually grows to more large scale circumstances.

All in all, it is a really well written Adventure Portal Fantasy, and you should at least read the first 13 free chapters to see if you like how they go.

This was quite honestly one of, if not the best, novels I've ever had the pleasure of reading. That is, until a certain point.

It was always evident, that Jason had to return home, but I sincerely hoped that this visit would be brief. Instead it dragged on, chapter after chapter. I honestly could not care less about Jason's original world, because his new one was so wonderfully described and I truly fell in love with both the setting and all Jason's new friends. This is why I cannot give this full marks. I do not care about Jason's old family, I do not care about Earth, other than the influence they have on Jason's character. I want to see more of his new world, I want to read about Jason's team and their adventures, but reading this many chapters about Jason being back on earth has sadly made me quit this novel, which I very much loved until this point.
