It's just a stupid bet, okay?
Yes, I'm dressed like a lady. But I have my reasons! I met this girl and she's really amazing and I just want to spend more time with her. But because of a bet, she ended up thinking that I'm a girl, too. Now I have to figure out how to juggle this double life as Michael and Lauren, spending most of my time as a college student working in a hardware store and the rest of my time as an awkwardly-tall girl who is best friends with the girl of my dreams. I'm just doing it until I have the courage to tell her the truth - but I don't want to lose this friendship!
This is quite well-written. The character development happens smoothly and the pacing is outstanding. This is one of those gems where the release rate is not fast but in exchange we get really high-caliber writing. The story explores commentary about how people see themselves and gender identity expression, so if that's not your cup of tea maybe pick something else, but I can assure you that it is well-made.
