Synopsis

Erf paid the price for his power, even if it was too much. He received a boon, even if it was too great. And now he needs to survive in an alien world while ensuring the safety of his estranged family. As the world will push him deeper and deeper into his shell.

But all shells eventually break. The question is — what will emerge from it?

This is the second book of my "Forgotten Dream of Tana" series that continues the story of Erf in a different world. While knowing the first is preferable for maximum enjoyment, it is designed to be read as stand-alone. This is an adult story for a mature audience — expect a similar style as the original story, but the plot continues and, with it, the new tags emerge.

TL, DR Author is selling onions, and I'm loving ALL THESE LAYERS.

The exploration of this story's world is so thrilling and one so well executed that I've only ever found myself pulled out of the world at the end of each chapter. Plot has excellent progression with characters whose intellect is proven in wonderous methods and exposition is kept to bare minimum's and adapts a strong 'show don't tell' policy seen through the interesting consequences to/would be displayed from said info. Smut scenes show progression of character relationships and displaying their personalities while aptly progressing blood to the nethers :).

Ecdysis-is the moulting of the cuticle in many invertebrates of the clade Ecdysozoa. Since the cuticle of these animals typically forms a largely inelastic exoskeleton, it is shed during growth and a new, larger covering is formed.

Gold standard for fictions on this site. There are none even close to the quality of this one. Make sure you read Wisher Beware first though. This is the sequel.

I can't even think of valid criticism other than the writer should get an editor and publish already.

The best serial I've read, regardless of genre.

People say that authors should write about what they know. If that's the case, then this author knows a hell of a lot.

It really shows, because not only does the author do the basics nigh on perfectly, the high-end hard-sci-fi edge to this seemingly high-fantasy setting is the best blend I've read so far.

The harem, explicit s*x, and interpersonal relationships are just the cherry on the cake, and the fact that the author has no interest in shying away from such things is an inspiration.

Basically, this series gives ligitamcy to scribblehub as a publishing platform.

The review for the second book, even if it is only at seven chapters now is essentially the same I gave the first book: It is in my opinion the best story on Scribblehub. The grammar is basically perfect and if one of the few mistakes get pointed out, it will be corrected within a day.

The story of Erf continues to be interesting and fun, dealing with the everyday problems of a relationship while trying to introduce an industrial revolution, because he is annoyed at all the wasted potential and general unreliability of the current systems. This part only gets better as the author appears to know what they are talking about.

If you have read the first book, you know why you are here, if you haven't, I would urge you to start reading it now. I doubt that you will regret it.

Very good and can't recommend enough, though you should read the first book first, this is a direct continuation so most of the characters/ social customs/ motivations are all explained in the first book. I'll probably get to writing an actual review later.

Don't really know how to make a review, but the story is great.

    Edit:

Just gets better, seriously, stop scrolling down and go read it, start with the first book Wisher Beware though.

Short review. The sequel to Wisher Beware. It starts just where Wisher Beware left us off. Direct continuation. It's already 5 out of 5 stars.

This is book 2 of the overall story. Things grow in scale everywhere. Erf cannot hide anymore, he has to carve his place out, and enemies abound. Some new hints to old mysteries are given, some answers as well. New mysteries emerge. It is a really fascinating read. But I'm preaching to the choir here. Doing it for the author and the numbers.

    I'm out.

    Status: chapter 53. resolving kinks

Used to write commercial Harem, read a lot of it, and now edit it professionally. This author is in my top 3 harem authors together with Cebelius and Mike Truk hands down. The characters, the setting, everything feels nicely fleshed out and well realized, and though the plot is quite slow there is a clear goal in the horizon and amazingly fun subplots!

    Status: chapter 86, twice over

I’ve read hundreds and hundreds of books and stories in just the past 4ish years since I’ve started reading again. A few have been all time classics, some have been plainly fantastic, and most of it was mildly entertaining drivel in retrospect. Yet few stories of any kind have ever prompted me to leave a review. This amazing and unique story is one of those few. I scour the internet, turning over rocks on every website and forum, searching for another series to start to make my over-dopamined brain feel something, but I keep finding myself disappointed when I compare it to the apex of the genre that is this story. This series is near peerless to me when it comes to this type of story. The premise is unique, the prose sublime, and the vision and scope both grounded yet epic. The MC is smart in both knowledge and wit without being an ass, he is self confident and yet humble, he is strong yet tempered, and is just perhaps one of the most likable characters for any story I’ve read. The women, both love interests and not, are extremely enjoyable and likable. More than anything, all the characters feel real to their world, and I just can’t get enough of most of them. I just want ed to take the time now, after a reread of the whole series, to say that this story is one of the greatest I’ve read on this site or any other, and I appreciate it immensely.

What a delicious story. Binge-read through the first book and finally got to the on-going part. This is going to be torture for me - waiting for the updates. This series hits all the buttons for me:- Calm and reasonable MC- Crafting & Engineering- Some steamy stuff without emphasis only on it- Magic

I think so far I prefer this book more compared to the first one. Yeah, there's steamy scenes, but often times this stuff can become overpowering when story starts to revolve just around that. So, anyway, thank you, Snusmumriken, for this delicious treat of a story.
