Synopsis

A Young woman dies on her trip to Japan in the most anticlimactic way possible, buried by a pile of manga, light novels, and even lewd doujin after an earthquake. In her last moments, all the wishes she has suddenly become reality and materialize in all sorts of Special Abilities before she finds herself reincarnated into a corpse!

Wait... Why is the corpse not moving? No matter how much she tries, it doesn't move, she's not even a zombie or something!

Wait... Why is she stuck with the unmoving corpse? The corpse is actually not part of her anymore!

Wait... Why is she not a physical being? Her hands are translucent, and so is her entire "new" body!

"Ah... I am a ghost?!"

Accompany Maria as she survives as a ghost in a brand new and unwelcoming world, raises her own skeleton as her friend, and seeks the truth behind her second life’s death and how exactly she turned into a ghost.

WARNING: This story is spooky.

I find the novel is going down the road of labeling humans as disgusting villains and demons as good people. The reverse is just as bad, it's a one-dimensional and subjective writing style that suits "instant noodle novels".

A good novel has a more multidimensional and objective way of thinking, there is no real bad guy or good guy and the characters are more vivid than the "instant noodle novel" that is rampant today. I hope the novel is not ruined by one-way thinking.

Ps: Seriously, humans kidnap female goblins to make s*x slaves?

This is genuinely the most self-indulgent, fan-fiction tier power fantasy I've ever read. I know the chapters are kind of short and I've only read 40 of them, but I really can't go on any further than this. It literally starts with the MC being directly granted her wildest fantasies, and only gets worse from there. Every character besides the MC exists to venerate how cool and awesome she is and little else beyond that, the only real exception being the tall, handsome, witty, powerful, wise, and handsome dragon husbando named... Lucifer... you see where I'm going with this?

The whole story to this point has played out like a big conveyer belt of things to show off the MC's protagonistness. From her laundry list of super powers, to her first meeting with a god being 10 seconds long and comprising entierly of the goddess naming the MC as her successor for no real discernable reason, to her constant evolutions from one "Wow! You're a type of ghost that only the most skilled and powerful necromancer could ever hope to summon!" to the next "Wow! You're literally the living embodiment of fear and terror! How old did you say you were? A few hours!?" It just never ends... The dragon squeeze only seems to speak up to let us know just how crazy op the MC is and not much else. I went into this expecting a power fantasy, but it seems the author forgot to add in any other ingredients.

My personal gripes aside, the writing isn't bad as the grammer and syntax have few noticeable errors. The ratings seem quite high and I can only assume that this style of storytelling is popular here, so I hope everyone else can enjoy it more than I did. I've got nothing against the story on a personal level, it's just not my cup of tea.

If the author is reading this, can you add chapter numbers to the titles? I find it helps me alot with keeping track of things and I'm sure plenty of other people feel the same way. Thanks for reading my sh*tty review, I hope you all have a nice day.

    5/5 I love it!

No edge lord (?) Female mc

No face slap villainess with 0 iq that does dumb sh*t

The MC got her own personality, feels like a living human and not a 2D one aimed at a specific audience.

World building is done brilliantly, not too much information is given and it doesn't piss you off because it comes naturally due to the well written POV (mostly MC's first person)

Her powers are a lot convenient and strong but she doesn't feel op and crushes everything with ease likes cliche trope.

Side characters are no shallow, not as well written as the MC but still good.

Pace is good and every chapter keep you wanting for more.

The MC is a female that is neither portrayed as a naive saint or a cruel murderer yet loving lesbian girl (lol? Sorry, most female lead novels I found are GL which I hate)

Overall, I recommend this story if you want a female protagonist that is powerful yet not overpowered, and has a brain in her head, not just obsessed with Charming princes.

The fantasy element (the isekai world) is based on north mythology which is very refreshing and there are the usual levels, ranks and skills and whatnot.

Yeah, just read 1 or 2 chaps and you'll get hooked.

This story is fair. It is a good read and easy to enjoy. It does struggle with sporadic effect and a lack of world-building/scene-building.

    Positive points:

    1) The story is fun. I sat down and read all the way up to this chapter in a single sitting and do not feel that I've wasted my time.

    2) The pace is very quick. For how this story is presented, this gives enough reason to keep reading. Something important happens in each chapter and action is hardly lacking. Plot points come up and are resolved relatively quickly.

    3) The characters have somewhat expressed personality.

    Not-so-positive points:

    1) The lack of world-building. While this is slowly coming into play, the lack of something "concrete" when it comes to this world gives way to a very loose feel to how the story can play out. It isn't an issue of discovering the world with the MC, it is more that you aren't given certainty that there are hard and fast rules which will impact the interaction - and when there are such rules, they have little to no effect overall.

    2) I find it quite sporadic and even somewhat random at times. The characters have personality, but it's not always a guarantee that they will make a logical progression in behavior. Another major example is the sudden insertion of Japanese honorifics

    Spoiler

I'm not talking about when a Japanese character is introduced, but rather when the demi-humans quite suddenly start using them and even then inconsistently

    [collapse]

As I said above, it's a fair story. I will be keeping it on my reading list.

Honestly the author has done a tremendous job with the creation of the world, the systems and the ideas behind them.

"Accompany Maria as she survives as a ghost in a brand new and unwelcoming world"

This is what attracted me the most to read the story, but I feel disappointed. When I read Maria's adventures I don't feel that I am following the adventures of a ghost the same story of an isekai having Ghost as a class. It doesn't feel at all like the protagonist is an undead/Ghost (Not affected by race at all in personality like Hatred for the living [undead trait]), but more like a summoned hero with the necromancer class.

Below I will put the main points of the adventure as a spoiler.

    Spoiler
    1. Isekai + new Body is killed + I become the ghost
    2. I level up and enter a dungeon
    3. I catch a Dragon (With tragic past) and try to seduce him + I end the dungeon
    4. In the road I freed some slaves
    5. A goblin village is in trouble and I saved it.
    6. Near the first human city I find an escaped experiment and help him to end the experiments on humans.
    7. I enter the human city with a couple of human experiments, a zombie dragon and me as a ghost and no one notices.
    8. I become an adventurer
      [collapse]
Honestly, there's nothing ghostly about the protagonist other than race. She feels all too human without seeming to be affected at all by the fact that she is a ghost and without caring about her second life as she treats that life as if it were a mystery game to be solved and not as if it had been her real life.

For me it would have been better to remove her first life (the one that dies in Japan) and simply start the story with the protagonist without memories and with the typical traits of the undead (hatred towards the living) and eventually remembering her past life starting a path of revenge as a mission for adventure.
