Synopsis

The protagonist Jason Strider was summoned to another world with his class while on a trip to Japan. After two months while exploring a dungeon for training he was pushed into a trap and killed instantly. Waking up, he meets the Goddess of the Moon: Tamamo. Given two options he chooses to reincarnate. Just before he reincarnates he is given the Divine Protection of the Moon Goddess and told that he is now her partner for eternity. Once he wakes up again in his new body he learns that he is no longer human but a kitsune named Luna.

NOTICE: I decided on a whim to try my hand at writing a story. I make no promises on the quality so I hope that anyone reading this will forgive me for that. Any tips or suggestions are welcome and I will try to accommodate them if I think they will fit with how I want the overall story to go. As I am currently in college, I can't make a solid schedule to release chapters. Again, I am a complete novice when it comes to writing stories but if you like what I write then I will try to meet your expectations.

A story in the same universe is being written called: Insane Descension by Crisis.

Give thanks to Lulla for providing cover art for this story. Give thanks to Esper for another wonderful art.

I made a discord server to talk about the story : https://discord.gg/f8ad9R4sGd

Alright, so this story was great!

Honestly the title and part of the description is not really an accurate description of what the story is about.

Spoiler for some explanation on what I meant with that with no real story spoilers, but better safe than sorry.

    Spoiler

So the betrayal part is not really a main point of the story. While it does get dealt with the main story is about the MC and friends going on an adventure, getting stronger and enjoying life. As for the 'genderbender' and 'goddess partner' situations, they are not actually forced things and were already accepted by the MC before reincarnating. The 'how' and 'why' gets explained pretty early in the story and the explanation for both these things makes sense. Its not like the MC is done dirty by everyone around. Its more of a fun and fluffy story actually.

    [collapse]

All in all, its a fairly lighthearted adventure story. Lots of fluff and its mainly just a chill adventure to the top while exploring interesting places and doing interesting things. Its a great story to just hang back and relax with compared to some serious/heavy stories. I recommend giving it a try.

    Pros:

    - Very cute

    - Relaxing to read

    - Nice side chars

    - Autor's notes are funny

    Cons:

    - Writing style is not great. I specially dislike how the dialogs of different chars are displayed: 'blablabla' (A). Instead of 'Blablabla' A said while shaking her head.

    - The `nya` part gets old pretty quickly

    - Some parts, like getting to rank C for the other party member, are quire repetitive.

    - Autor's note started taking a life of it's own, and sometimes it's feels like some of that explanation should go to the actual chapters.

Do you want to rest, relax, and feel cozy and fluffy? Read this!

There is enough restlessness and ugliness in the world. I got caught up in this story to relax and feel the sweet atmosphere that satisfies me. Gentleness, fluffiness, and smiles are the main features of this story. There is adventure and romance, a little bit of gamelit, a lot of fluff. The development of the relationship between Tamamo and Luna is appealing, they are two heroines and I find it interesting to experience their connection.

I'll point out a major weakness. This is a dialogue story and the characters' characters are revealed through words. But words cannot reflect the whole inner world, a lot of things are kept silent and many things are distorted during the speech. Therefore, the characters in the story are incompletely revealed. There is little action, little behavior, no reflection (an inner, intimate and honest world). But none of this matters. It is important to have your safe haven of peace and rest.

Paytoechip, Thank you for your creativity! And may Fluff be with us.

Realized I didn't review, annoyed at myself now...

Anyways, Fluff is 10-Stars and everything else is 5-Stars. That's literally all I can verbalize.

Alright, this will be my first proper story review, I think, so bear with me.

TLDR: It's good, but not taken seriously.

This story is extremely well done. The writing style is easy to follow along with, I rarely ran into any place where I had to go back and reread a part to figure out what was going on. This is a major plus in my opinion, and sets this novel head-and-shoulders above some of it's competition. Similarly, the grammar is mostly correct, and the author was quick to make any corrections once they were pointed out. Since the novel is now completed, new readers shouldn't encounter any egregious grammatical errors.

This story is mostly written like a slice-of-life as it follows the main characters on their happy jaunt across the continent. Any problems that pop up are usually dealt with quickly and without much fuss, due mostly to the OPness of the main cast. If you're looking for heart pounding battles that keep you on the edge of your seat, look elsewhere.

The environments are described reasonably well, though personally I think some more attention to the details would have made things more enjoyable, this is just my preference. The action scenes, while largely brief, were given enough detailed descriptions to be engaging. Most battles, should they last long enough, were often accompanied by commentary from other characters or observing deities, I found this to be an interesting addition and it was often used to good effect in world building.

Most of the characters themselves seemed rather flat at first, but grew depth as the story progressed and the author fleshed out their personalities and backstories. Interactions between the main cast members are full of fluff and feelgoodness, friendly teasing between most and sugar filled flirting for the couples. Hostile or aggressive interactions are limited to other characters, most of whom don't reappear again after their role is over.

The only real gripe I might have is that the main cast are basically a bunch of uber-powered people who can solve any problem with basically no effort. The worst offender of this being Luna herself, as she seems to pick up new abilities during her journey with little effort. Though to Paytoe's credit she is shown working on said abilities before they become relevant, if they ever really do.

Overall, a solid feelgood read. I would recommend it to anyone not looking for something too serious.

Thanks for many entertaining hours of reading.

And thanks of several dreams of FLUFF! ;)

Only critic: it was more of a romance story than a LitRPG.

It brushes past and doesn't really flesh out a lot of things, even when such is needed - leaving a lot of things sort of awkwardly happening for some reason. For example, in one of the earlier chapters it's noted that the way healing magic is trained is by cutting oneself and healing the cuts. This is treated as perfectly reasonable and normal, despite the necessary step of doing the cutting over and over and over being dubious at best. It'd be nice if this was elaborated on to explain either why it's a more reasonable thing in this world than in ours or to acknowledge that that's not normal there either (the former being interesting worldbuilding and the latter as characterization of the parents as people willing to go to such extreme lengths and of Luna as someone that'll push through pain to achieve a rather invisible reward). It doesn't, though, so this sort of consistent disinterest in elaborating on things or even really showing what's going on in any way starts making it hard to draw me in.
