It’s been years since Rin’s entertained thoughts of binding a spirit. Now, mostly, he tells himself to forget about it. And now, unlike when he was younger, he wants to.
To forget about that, and all the rest.
(But does he really? Yes. The answer is yes.)
Even so, he’s never left the games, not completely, not the way he should have. If he had, maybe the specters of his past wouldn’t have come knocking at his door. Now he must face the one person he wants to see the least, and hope that he’s done a good enough job of letting the past go to survive a year with him. Because whatever he feels about Aidri is one thing, but if everything Rin’s put behind him catches up to him…well, he’s not sure he can survive that.
Either way, it’s going to be a long year.
