After the failure of their first mission together, their own financial crisis will force these soul mates to work alongside in the crime world.
With the help of IT expert and surgeon genius Abhi, they will try to find their place in a world that has erased their names from all records.

Discover the heartbreaking lives and heart-wrenching backstories of these lost souls…
Love can bloom in the abyss, but the name is CLASSIFIED!

So what do you think?”

“’Damn, we’re cool as fuck …’”

//There are Two Gods in Heaven is an action-comedy about two dangerous soul mates who try to escape poverty thanks to a mysterious criminal organization. POV changes, unreliable narrators and lots of bad words rain down on the pages like bullets, and useless things like ethics aren’t part of their training. Illustrated by a god-tier artist (Iciriini), you may enjoy reading through the Bayesian mind games, pop culture references and childhood traumas, because in the end it’s a story about healing, found-family and finding peace with one’s identity.//

I haven't commented on this fic until now, and to be fair, I should have done it earlier because I simply love it.

While the beginning might have been a tad slow, and the POV changes can be confusing when we're not yet used to them, I actually think it's cleverly executed. Each shift in POV aligns with the character, focusing on what captures their attention or their individual thought process. So, even if some perspectives seem lacking in description or self-reflection, it genuinely makes sense given their personal viewpoints. It's a unique writing style, different from the norm, but this difference doesn't come across as clumsiness; you can feel it. And even though there are some rough edges in the writing, I don't think they lie in this aspect.

The author progressively improves with each chapter, and at a certain point, the storyline becomes quite intricate. With more and more characters introduced, it's true that you might feel a bit lost at times, but rest assured, the author knows where they're leading the story. The characters are amusing, endearing, and unpredictable, akin to well-crafted role-playing characters. None of them are purely good or evil; they're beautifully shaded. Even seemingly minor characters play a tangible role and possess presence.

Nowadays, whenever I see a new chapter is out, I get this cozy feeling that I'm about to embark on an enjoyable reading journey. It's impossible to predict what's going to unfold due to the characters' volatility and the myriad possibilities. It strongly reminds me of series like Baccano! Or Black Lagoon. It's an intricate tangle, but not within the author's mind. Thankfully, I never encounter the dreadful frustration of a cliffhanger at the end of a chapter. Each time, I'm treated to fun and unexpected scenarios, fresh information, and plot revelations. In the end, I'm left fulfilled by a chapter that uplifts my mood. And I know the next chapter will provide the same sensation—it doesn't need any addition. Every new installment meets my expectations, though I'm always in the dark about how.

I haven't delved into the story's details because I don't want to spoil anything. However, I can say that "Family" is one of the main themes, with the other themes interwoven around it. While the story revolves around gangs, mafias, terrorists, wars, soldiers, and similar elements, they all ultimately revolve around relationships and drama, anchored by the notion of family.

I do wonder what other readers think of this fic. It's so intricate, and interpretations can vary depending on individual sensibilities.

Oh, and I must mention that I adore the cover art. The artist is undoubtedly skilled! :D

I've been reading this webnovel for over half a year, but I didn't feel compelled to make an account so I can rate and review it until the latest chapter, which feels like an important turning point (but no spoilers in this review). I don't read any other ongoing webnovels, but I do enjoy light novels a lot and that is exactly what There are Two Gods In Heaven is best likened to; a fun, easy to read, manga/anime inspired novel with beautiful illustrations.

Perhaps the most outstanding part of the writing is the first person narration from multiple points of view: we're not just seeing the story from the main characters' perspective; the narrator changes very often, sometimes more than once in a chapter and they all have different levels of unreliable narrator syndrome. It's easy to tell when the change happens, but it might not always be easy to tell which character is narrating. Some people might think this is jarring or hard to get used to, but I find it a fun way of getting to know better more characters.

The first chapters are definitely the weakest, but it progressively gets better and better, both as the characters grow and as the author's prose improves. The narrative may seem chaotic, but it's carefully planned and it always comes together in the end. The story itself is not very complicated, the novel's heart and soul are the characters and their interactions. One may call it slice-of-life comedy drama with action scenes. As expected of an ensemble cast, the characters themselves are very funny, memorable and enjoyable, their relationships are sometimes even heartwarming. Last but not least, the designs and illustrations are particularly high quality, drawn by @iciriini on twitter.

TL;DR: I really enjoy Two Gods and I recommend it to anyone who likes multiple POV storytelling, dark comedy, action and a slow-burn romance!
