    Status: 173 Diana's Internal Monologue

I really enjoy what the story has to offer. An interesting setting with great worldbuilding and intruiging characters. The story is still in the early stages, meaning setup and introducing characters despite it already being over 440k works long and I love it for it. It does not rush anything and gives every aspect of the story its time to shine. The latest arc, a party, is already over 10 chapters long and it feels like a further 10 to properly finish all that was set up. So buckle up and join all of us on this story set in the stars that may be finished when we ever reach them aouselves ;)

Let me get this out of the way. This is a slow burn. As of writing this, there are around 440, 000 words written. We are well on our way to 200 chapters and we still haven't gotten to the namesake of the novel. The author has the habit of going on side tangents to further flesh out the world, characters, and make future plot points make sense. Which, by all means, is something I greatly appreciate. All of this really helps make the entire thing feel alive. The characters are extremely well written, the dialogue feels natural, and it just feels like a breath of fresh air compared with many other webnovels both here and otherwise. If things continue to go as they have been so far, this will definitely be among my favorite reads of all time (definitely pretty high up that list already).

Basically, get ready to be in it for the long haul, because I know that I am.

    First review here.

This story is the reason I made an account on this website. It's dense with information, it gives credibility to the universe it's set in. It makes it come alive as you read, I feel. The characters are growing on me. There's even a sentient IA which doesn't lack personality, without coming out as over-exaggerated. I'm expecting a bit more out of Diana, she can do better, I'm eager to see how she will progress in her domains of competency.

Donovan and the squad remain my favorite moments. I love drill sergeant antics, and how Donovan is shaping them up to be the best soldiers in the universe. Start small, go stronger.

The style is very good, some minor mistakes sometimes, nothing bothering my reading.

It's a story that takes its sweet time, and I like it for it. It has great potential. Give it a try!

On phone so not sure review is saving properly, but for those reading, I would probably rate the overall story as a 4-4.5 stars. The story starts as extremely hard science fiction, and has since turned into space fantasy, with a lot of world building and slowly building plot. It’s an enjoyable read for the most part, but at present (through chapter 201 after the hard science fiction transitions into space fantasy a la star wars, just with ‘split’ being somewhat analogous to old midichlorian force canon, I would classify the story as mostly a slice of life where the foundations and characters are slowly being revealed. It’s an enjoyable story, but read it for the world building and characters- not for action. (At least as of chapter 201)

This is a great story, so far at least. Yes it is a bit slow in it's development, but it is steady and building up to something better than if it just rushed to the end. The payoffs make it more than worth it and there is always new plotlines and viewpoints that are weaved together that, if successfully executed, would make this sorry one of the best on the site. Only time will tell if it reaches those heights, but I'm confident that it will.

The best sci-fi novel I've read read, with extensive focus on world building and realism. I especially love the glossary presenting Terrans future technologies as well as the effort the author places on their entries

This level of detailed worldbuilding usually bores me within minutes, but every time I think it's about to be too much, I get smacked in the face by the main plot again, it's a refreshing novel to read for the actual contents too!

I am really enjoying this story so far.

The author makes excellent use of a slow burn deep characterization of characters to set up an engaging and believable narrative.  While I am a little worried by the pace set so far in relation to the goals set for the characters in terms of seeing them pay of within the stories scope, the developments that we do see pay of are non the less very engaging

I must admit to beeing unable to put the story down since I have picked it up. Binging it may have been unwise but I judge it well worth the effort.

In short if you like a slow burn wel thought out progression/slice of life within a political/ sci-fi setting this story is well worth your time.
