Incredible story. Syringe has created such a wonderfully twisted world here. Also, a lot of stories have a whole "oh battles are stories" thing that's usually just supposed to sound cool. I'm convinced this is the only story where it's actually true. The battles are absolute masterworks.
Some of the best world building and character growth of any story I've read, this story is in my top ten I've ever read. If you're a fan of hurt/comfort than let me tell you this story has both in spades, and so far this story hasn't let me down with a satisfying resolution to every major conflict.
My one complaint is early on, the first few chapters are incredibly dense with lore and mechanic dumping, and no matter how well that's put to use afterwards it makes for some hard reading and I almost dropped the story because I was worried that it would be indicative of the rest of the story. Thankfully it wasn't, and around chapters 10-15 the story takes a turn for the better and never turns back. If you're interested in the story I recommend trying to reach that far before stopping. It really is worth the wait, I promise!
This fic has a lot of elements and references to certain things like the Arbiter's, the bird abnormalities and workshop atelier's that mainly comes from project moon's game lob corp and library of ruina. So being a fan of their games and seeing said references to the game's throughout the fic make's me happy that there is a fic that incorporates it to the plot well. Overall I like this fic's premise as a whole and even without knowing what the references are, you can still enjoy the fic due to it being written properly and having a good story.
This is a preliminary review, after only 10 chapters.
So far the story could be best described as "confusing word-vomit full of grammar errors", with an MC that constantly references their past as a human, but doesn't act like it, completely nerve-stapled. It leads to a heavy dislike of the MC and the story as a whole. The setting and the world feel as if they COULD be deep, but are not. Like a light novel only worse.
Will try to read further in hope of betterment, but the critical Reviews make me not optimistic (the positive ones even less - did they really read the same story I did?)
I want to like this story, I really do, but the tale itself is a confusing mess. The lack of proper grammar or structure means that much of the intended impact of the story is lost in translation. The author is in such a hurry to introduce new characters that the names become a slurry of words you can't tease apart. The end result is a morass of characters being introduced and shuffled off the mortal coil in short order.
I'm looking forwards to an edited version, but fear it may require a substantial rewrite of the current story to smooth out the dialogue.
Don’t be confused by the first few chapters if you can survive those massive info dumps until getting to the Black Forest arc you’ll be surprised by the massive increase in quality
I really recommend this if you can survive the the first few chapters 4/5
a very interesting story a mixture of a lot of different ideas it has good wording that makes me want to understand what it means and in general what's happening I can only hope it can explain it all through the story give it a try it's certainly interesting
One of the best I've read on this site so far. The beginning 30 or so chapters can be confusing at first, but it feels intentional as both the reader and the protagonist are confused, and you are learning at the same pace as the protagonist. Some of the most creative “boss” monster fights I've seen, as all the fights are like puzzles that tell a story. I like the Eldritch themes as well, so that's a plus.
The Idea is really great and has been executed really well. At the start there's a lot of information dumped on you but If you can survive the first few chapters, you can prepare yourself for an rollercoaster of emotions.
So give it a try and you probably won't regrett it.
People can be more like monsters and vice versa. But what about the Corrupted? How can entities born from hopes, dreams, nightmares and fairytales of all things ever dare to consider themselves anything like ‘people’ or ‘monsters
Temper Aspirations.

Repeating dreams.
A game world appearing in reality.
Every night, Zoe keeps having strange dreams. Dreams about a game called Mortal Online. Thinking the dreams are only due to her excitement about the game’s release she tosses
Heroes battle in the suburbs and magical girls soar the sky while they battle the dark forces that plague this [World], that is the normal state of things. Among those that live in this [World], there’s one girl who’s anything but eage
