Synopsis

Lin Songmei is poor. Getting dropped off at the doorstep of an orphanage while she was a baby—the classic baby in the basket situation—she didn’t have much of a childhood, and spent most of her days doing schoolwork or reading in the library.

However, in a world where modern society is intertwined with cultivators that have lived for as long as anyone remembers, everyone’s life has a chance to turn around at the aptitude tests held at 16 years old.

So, when Songmei goes into the aptitude tests crossing her fingers and hoping for a smidge of talent, just enough to get her a comfy home and a stable future, but finds out she has more talent than she could ever imagine... what next? Dream of a bigger house?

'And why does the second child of a super rich family clan keep showing up? Her family has enough influence to move nations... So why is she hanging out in my room?'

Interesting cultivation novel set in a modern/futuristic world and the character inneracting is nice so far.

Very solid read. I definitely recommend.

It delivers on what it promises, with distinct characters that share various bonds and dynamics with each other.

The world, while average, is perfect for the type of novel it's designed for and it helps deliver the casual and fluffy feeling of the plot.

Angst is minimal (for now) and it's quickly replaced by sweet and hilarious interactions.

The writing is good for this type of novel and it clearly describes the character interactions with the world, each other and situations they experience.

    Good upload rate.

A well rounded casual novel in conclusion.

Didn't really mean to press submit but since I did I'll write something.
    (written at chapter 93)
This is a nice fluffy cultivation story with a mortal world that is more similar to our own than most. The technology has advanced in a way that is a little different (because of qi) in a way that's a bit like The Path of Ascension.
The romance and fluffyness will heal your soul a little.
... Good story I like it a lot.

I'm dropping this because I have a habit of passing on any stories that are using cover art they don't have permission to use and as far as I can tell is the case. Though I only realised after reading up until chapter 87.

I am giving it 5 stars because I do enjoy the story a lot and ultimately my issues are my own and not reflective of the story itself.

It's very fluffy and given I read up to chapter 87 I can say it really is shaping up to be an incredibly enjoyable feel-good story with its fair share of actual happenings to break up the slice-of-life. If the cover wasn't what it was I would happily have read this until the very end.

Status: 62: the classic way to bond...

The amount of...'s the author uses in the story is making this story such a drag to read. I get that Songmei is supposed to be an awkward teen who is trusted into a world she has no right entering, but when all of your characters barring the sect elders/any adult really, using '...' in every sentence it gets annoying really quickly. If you don't believe me, this is a small excerpt from chapter 62.

"It... does. It does seem a little suspicious.” Mingqing murmured, her hair in a messy ponytail instead of her usual neat half-up hairstyle. “For one, I know it was a rare rainstorm... but to cause this many landslides? That’s... a little far fetched. Also, I’m not an expert in landslides or anything... but i’m not sure, maybe it was the long period of drought that destabilized the ravine walls? Or was it all a cover as a group wanted to seal off the area..." This happens consistently through out the story.

In one paragraph there are 5 '...'. If you wanted to convey an uncertain kid you could have wrote "She shrugged undecidedly" or "He shrugged his shoulders" or "They remarked thoughtfully"

Besides that, not a lot happens in each chapter. You could probably condense the chapter to one small thing Songmei and Mingqing do with a lot of extra filler. The supporting cast is similarly underwhelming, with the barely present master contributing very little to the story and growth of the girls while their very first party member in their team has a character of "Oh I like eating jellies" plus your generic teen awkwardness every other teen in this story seemingly has.

All in all it is pretty meh, If you wanna read this try ctrl + F all the '...'s out of the story

    (Made at Chapter 87)
Cultivation is modern settings are interesting. A lot of time the Cultivation tries to keep itself secret from the public, or the cultivation max level is very low due to nature of the world, or both those things. Crystal Constellations does neither, while doing it's own thing. Unlike most Cultivation stories, Crystal Constellations is very peaceful, and it built upon a lot of fluff, with the two leads. Not saying there is no conflict, action, or cultivation stuff. There are some tenser moments as they go out to explore the world, and enough depth is put into the cultivation stuff to make those parts interesting.

So it's a good read for a more causal cultivation experience, with MC who is curious enough about her new world of cultivation, slow (...... but eventual) romance, and good cultivation.

A cute romance story that takes place in a modernized cultivation world, and also subverts a lot of the common tropes of the genre. It is a great story for those looking for something different in the cultivation genre.

I feel its time to describe this novel and rate it.

    I rate it 5\5, it's good.

    Story:
It's simple, yet ingenius. It's set up for a tiny bit of tension too, but not much at all. First of all, the two MC's hits off right away. You'll see it in minor details like holding hands. How they act around each other contra other people etc. Mingqing especially. Second, I love how the author describes the cultivation world. The Author takes a massive jab against chinese cultivation novels and I LOVE it. In this Novel, cultivation is BORING and repetive. Lively upped by flashy moves now and then yet keeping the cool "Power ups" and stuff. The Novel also describes how boring travelling is (another jab at fantasy novels about adventures).I love this novel, it's grounded and realistic.

    Characters:
Whoops!! Almost spoiled! They're great. Songmei is the introvert while Mengqing is the Extrovert, despite their opposite personalities they attract each other because the one has the qualities the other needs. In short, they fit each other suprisingly well. Both the MC's is well fleshed out and interesting enough. The Side Characters receive less attention character build wise, but they're still interesting.

    In short:
It's a grounded, more realistic potrayal of a cultivation world. A more Slice of Life and Relaxed Yuri Novel. Don't expect much Drama, alot of actions or anything much like that, It's a relaxing novel about two girls who just happen to fit together.

Very slice-of-life with a stick of action. Comedy is nice and romance is sweet. I recommended trying it our if you love yuri, slice-of-life, with action, a nice power couple, and a well built world.
