Synopsis

More than a hundred years into the future and the world has been through hell and back, not that ancient history matters to Terry as his girlfriend of three years dumps him in the middle of a park. As a way to distract him, his twin sister convinces him to dive into the newest fantasy VRMMO with her. Reluctantly agreeing, neither of them could have known the adventure of self discovery Terry would find himself plunged into.

A mishap in character creation leaves him stranded far from his sister, with a randomly generated character and plethora of problems. The first problem, of course, is the fact that he appears to be a demon girl, and the second? A gorgeous redhead with her sword at his throat.

I found this story due to a recommendation on reddit. Specifically a Trans sub-reddit; the same post the recommended my to the Rain Web Comic.

I am so glad I followed that recommendation. I am about to start on my 10th re-read of this story. The whole Trouble-verse is amazing and totally worth the reads. Val is awesome and her stories are up there with the best. This along with Witch and her Patreon exclusive Digital Galaxies are so worth the read!!!

This story by itself is still such an amazing story about a Trans girl in so many ways..... I just can't even. It is a MUST READ!

So well put together, so well planned/orchestrated, so well coordnitated. This is an amazing story for anyone interested in [Girls Love], [LitRPG], [Trans Protag] and so many more. Feel free to and in some side-character Ace/Bi/and so much more.

Just finished and I gotta say... WOW!! This is a true gem of a novel on here. (Rating is only cause it is in the first person perspective which is risky. It worked for me in this case, but might not for others.)

You should like this if: You enjoy mushy, romantic relationships; gender change; flashy cool fights that feel like logical thought has been put into while still being over the top; political intrigue that is only knee depth to the main characters but gives far on the action side; a good story that isn't dominated by s*x but also doesn't shy from it where appropriate; flirty behavior; protagonists that aren't OP as all get out

You might not like this if: You don't enjoy gender change; lesbian romance; flashy cool fights that can be over the top sometimes; political intrigue; dystopian takes on the future of the real world (I thought it was a bit dystopian but it isn't really per se) ; have some degree of religious inclination; want lots of girls love s*x; don't want any s*x at all; want to read a story about a Mary Sue (no brokenly OP characters here)

The story starts odd. Terry, our main hero and protagonist, has some conflicting descriptions about him, his nature and personality, and the sort of life he leads at times. He is partially a Chad type of guy, but seems to lack all the Chad type of behaviors, yet is also very popular with the ladies. Honestly, it doesn't really add up. Thankfully, our gracious author quickly remedies everything by revealing the crux of our hero's plight.

In no time at all, a solution is found and put into action. So, story ends there right? Not so fast. While our hero's biggest plight in life might have been fixed and he, now she, is feeling their best ever, her story is only beginning. Love, intrigue, power, politics, revolution, adventure and more all await or newly reborn heroine as she grabs her new life by her new horns and charges forward into the future with no regrets. This is a tale about young man, who becomes a young woman, and embraces all that life has to give.

It is a tale told in the best way possible. It is told right and complete.

This novel was honestly kind of disappointing. I wanted to read a litRPG or progressive fantasy with a strong female protagonist after catching up to the current chapter of the Reincarnation of Alysara (great novel if you want something similar to Azarinth Healer or just a strong and smart female protag) and stumbled onto this. It helped that this novel was also tagged as completed and was rated quite highly at 4.8/5. Now for the reasons why I found this novel disappointing.

The first reason why I disliked it was because of the giant amount of s*x being shoved down my throat. The MC and Dawn were doing it or making out with each other every goddam chapter. MCs sister and friend also started making out too which made me even more miserable. Don't get me wrong, its nice that the characters find love but goddam I felt like now I had to endure twice the punishment. It did not help that right after this, May became interested with that Amazon SAI. At this point in time, I was just only halfway through the novel and felt that this book was not the LitRPG I was hoping for but was a lesbian smut novel set in an online vrmmorpg. I feel like there 30 chapters straight just talking about relationship stuff instead of playing the game.

Which brings me to my second reason and arguably the one that caused me the most disappointment. Sure the MC was a battle junkie but the battles were lacking, all the enemies were defeated too easily like damn do the gamers in Cora suck so bad. Like sure MC has perks from being a randomized character with a good build and help from an AI but damn they don't really stand a chance. The combat made me feel that even though the MC was low levelled, they could thrash other players cuz of plot armor. Actual combat isn't written very well either. Honestly the smut was better written. I also dislike the Church as the antagonist faction. It was just a very dumb (as in incompetent rather than poorly designed) and weird enemy.

There are a couple other issues I have with this novel, such as the completed tag is a lie, but the two above are what really killed the story for me. Maybe I'm being too critical and this novel is supposed to be more comedic than realistic but the story just irked me.

I really enjoyed the first dozen of chapters but in my opinion everything seemed to go downhill after the MC and Dawn becomes an official couple. Looking back, I kind of wished I just stopped there. I had to force myself after like ch 20 to keep reading and to my dismay, it didn't get better. I have trouble figuring out why this has 4.8 stars, is it because of all the s*x scenes?

Would not recommend to readers looking for people looking for grand fight scenes or an epic plot.

Amazing. Loved every min of it.

I am not good at reviewing stuff but I reread this story like half a dozen times last year and created an account just to say thanks. At the very least this story is good enough to make an impact on someone (me).

I read Chapter 1-33 more than the rest. IDK by the time I finish the first book I am so happy and yet worn out that I need to breath then start at 1 agian because I loved it so much.

Incredibly beautiful story of self discovery and fluffy romance (with some smut), the action is awesome and the family is great and supporting, I really love how the characters and their interactions with each other feel genuine and real which really helps with the immersion into the story.

I definitely recommend you read this☺️

This story is ok as a romance, ok for the smut, a complete failure as both a litrpg and as a vrmmo story, possibly the worst I have read in that particular regard. As a genderbender it's meh, I can't say more without spoiling than that it revolved heavily around transgenderism.

It as in not just the genderbender part (honestly genderbender isn't even the correct tag, this is a transgender story not a genderbender technically) but the entire story, that was everything the story was really about and all other parts of the story seemed to suffer in some way to make way for that.

The characters were weak and hard to believe and either too supportive or too opposing, there was almost no one neutral...

The worldbuilding is complete garbage, the vrmmo was stated early on to be heavily fantasy themed and someone pimping up their bar to look less medieval was an exception, then a couple chapters later there are mechs, cannons and railguns in it... there's no consistency and don't even get me started on the gameplay design, it just made no sort of sense. It would have been much smarter of the author to forego levels entirely than whatever that was...

The romance was ok but a bit hard and super fast.

Really the only thing of note about the story is transgender themes but even that didn't really grab me either. It didn't strike me as a realistic representation of transgenderism even.

Overall I would say this story was way overrated and I don't think I will keep reading now that I finished book one cuz everything that could happen has happened already as far as I am concerned. I don't see a way this story could continue in any meaningful way from this point.

I think this was the first really amazing trans story I read on SH. It, and QuietValerie, have completely won me over.
I love the world, both in and out of game. I love Tami, oh, so much. I love the relationship and how they both struggle, then accept it. I love the family, especially Taylor, but also Tami's parents and how quickly they accept her transition. I mean, I'm usually all for more conflict, but the dysphoria in chapters 11 and 13 already had me in tears.
I really just want more of Tami and this story. I'm reading Lieforged Gale, which is also amazing, and should pick up Witch in Chains as well, but I don't really want to move on to another story in the same world just yet.
