Earth Thornell is his brother's Shield, one destined to protect a Hero as they strive to fufill whatever prophecy the oracles decide upon and rivals to the Lord Candidates of the Demons. This time the King decides that placing all the Shields and Heroes on an Island is the best idea. Even before reaching the island, duos as weird and dysfunctional as the Thornell Siblings will forge friendships with Earth and make him question things about him that he tried to not consider- all while old friends plot in the Demon Kingdom- one of whom is the top Lord Candidate and next Queen of the Demons. Will Earth remain with the Heroes and Shields or join old and new friends elsewhere to fix mistakes he made in the past?

Notice: Everything in Part 1 is going through a quick and easy minor rewrite/edit, as I have time to do so. Re-done chapters will have a * by them. Not much will really change if you read it before but still, at least it will be slightly less bad.

I really enjoyed the humor with which the story is written and the way other characters comment on the MC's narration. The constant flashbacks were a bit distracting from the plot flow, but not unreasonably so. The trans angle felt a bit forced as more of a surprise push than a pull, but I've seen it managed worse and humor always helps.

I did end up dropping the story since it went in a direction I'd rather not continue to read. I have hangups about forced servitude and abuse of children, but the writing style is fun overall and if you don't mind the downers I'd say it's a good read.
