Status: chapter 80: the protagonist meets the...

So far (CH 80) it's not good, I think the MC is the worst Gary Stu (male Mary Sue) I've seen. His cheat system is too much and requires no effort, considering it's called the scumbag system you would assume he needs to actually do something scummy, but no, just seeing a capture target girl gives him restaurants, real estate, investments, or a billion yen directly to his bank account, he does get extra for actually doing something of course.

These properties he gets also come with a trusty manager, so MC really doesn't need to do anything. I feel like even though he's a billionaire while doing nothing other than living his life, he COULD be forgiven but he also gets knowledge and skills downloaded into his head, so he's top of school, master chef, master artist, master martial artist, etc... these skills also have a skill bonus so anyone that, say, follows his recipe cannot make the dish as well as he can since he has a system buff.

Even the xianxia protagonists need to at least train or fall into a ditch for their cheats, so they do expand SOME effort.

Just something to add, there is a huge number of characters (mostly female) from many different animes, I have not watched many of them, so I keep tabs on the picture of the character for reference to remember who's who.

I do plan on continuing reading and will update my review accordingly since most other reviews ARE positive and say it gets much better.

It's horrid. Absolutely everything is dictated by the narrator in the most matter-of-fact tone, there is no suspense and there is no difficulty or conflict. It's the sort of writing one would expect from a middle-schooler: And then, and then, and then; He had to admit, she had to admit, He had to admit.... Every other sentence is a character directly stating their feelings as if each character has perfect self-understanding, or "having to admit" some opinion of the author as if it were a globally accepted fact. Adverbs like "suddenly" are so abundant that one begins to think nothing happens in this world except that it is quick, and unexpected. English is clearly not the first language of the author, something for which he can be easily forgiven. What he cannot be easily forgiven is the clear unwillingness to sit down with one of the classics and examine what constitutes good writing. I suggest Hemingway--since the author clearly references him at least once and "The Old Man and the Sea" is about as simply written as it is possible to be. The lack of any artifice and skill can be ignored for the first few chapters. There are over 500 and as of chapter 128, no sign of improvement. It has gone well past the point of naivete and reached masturbation and I wouldn't recommend anybody read this.

Status: chapter 305: ice coffee float

I stopped when I read 300 chapters because I realized that there was nothing more to look for in this work. (and also because I was too sick to try to find a better piece)

There are several cons that exist throughout history. Some of which could be turned into pluses in capable hands, but the author is not good enough for this.

    1 Main character system.

It is unnecessarily strong, unnecessarily limited, and its existence is completely contrived and does not make sense.

If you see a girl, get a reward that would be enough for any reasonable person to live comfortably until his old age.

The system only works on characters from other stories. The author immediately gave himself an excuse not to introduce his own characters into the work.

The system exists only because the author said that it should exist.

    2 Plot

Starting with the fact that he does not exist, and ending with the fact that without a plot, the characters are too insipid.

Everyday life is quite a good genre, but... 300 chapters describe how many do you think? year? half a year? a couple of months? No. Doesn't even describe 2 weeks. Moreover, the narrative is filled with many similar events, despite the fact that many unique events are described in one sentence.

And the ecchi genre is not able to justify this, I have seen good works of this genre and this one is not even in the top 10, although I have seen no more than 20 of them.

And the events... Damn it. If the author had played the chuunibyou card well, then many events would not have been a disappointment. For example, both matches are in the underground arena.

If an instant victory in the first match can still be explained by a reluctance to fight, then in the second it cannot, since he simply made an instant victory like an idiot and could not get into the head of the public that he should not be challenged to fight.

    3 Romance

After a certain moment, it becomes clear that the author is able to imagine only 1 type of romantic relationship: GG attracts a girl with his existence, the girl boils in her feelings for a while, the girl confesses to him, he tells her that he is a scumbag and meets a bunch of girls and sends her to think, they meet again and begin a relationship.

But the saddest thing is that due to the fact that the entire romantic component during s*x is excluded, then all the girls who have s*xual relations with him immediately reduce their presence in the novel, since the author believes that the GG relationship with the girl can be described as follows : The girl lost her virginity with GG (I threw this work as soon as I saw such an abomination).

Some might say that there are relationships that differ from this. Yes, but they are all at the very beginning before Sorata leaves the dorm. There is no point in reading this work beyond this point, since it turns from a 4-star one into simple garbage.

... Honestly, I could still find a few negatives if I wanted to, but I'm tired of this piece. In the end, the only thing that kept me after the end of the arc of accepting a new life was the possible plot of the corruption of the protagonist, but after observing the skill of the author for some time, I realized that even if the author thinks of this development, he is unlikely to be able to present it in the proper form.

What about the benefits of the piece? ahahah They ended together with the end of the 1st arc (departure from the hostel of the character "Sorata" + acceptance of a new life by the main character). Such a difference in quality really makes you wonder if this work is written by the same author who started it.

Status: chapter 57: the talk between unidentified...

I picked this up yesterday, and just stopped in the middle of chap. 57. It get 2 stars since I missed the 1 star.

The pacing of this novel is terrible. Almost 60 chapters in, and maybe 4 or 5 days have passed? I don't know because there is so much filler that it's impossible to know how much time has passed.

How much filler you ask? Well I just read 5 or 6 chapters all dedicated to a fish dinner. 1 just to make it, 1 just for how good it smells, 1 maybe 2 on how it tastes. 1 on how such a young man could be so accomplished in cooking, along with how rude someone was to ask how they made it. And all of it was to welcome a possible love interest, who maybe spoke twice.

I may have held on, because I thought this was a new Author, but nope. They have a dedicated following from previous stories, and 1 review for 300 chapters in says it's been only 2 weeks in the time line. So the writing and pacing won't improve.

Every interaction between characters is so weighed down by unnecessary detail. Every conversation with MC is someone talks, 2 paragraphs on how each person feels about what they said, next person talks, another 2 paragraphs. And that's only if their are 2 people. Each person will get their own dedicated paragraph as to how they process each persons words.

So In all honesty, I read maybe 7 chapters of actual story, and 50 filler.

    Status: chapter 774: irreplaceable (end)

Utterly ridiculous slice-of-life/crud drivel. Misrepresented, uncreative, trash. I think there must be people who might want to punish themselves by reading about others living tortured bizarre existences.

I just jumped from chapter 40 to the end (I wasted only a couple hours of my life)... several hundred chapters later, because the pattern of nothingness seemed strong, and I wanted to see if this Gary Stu ever did anything).  I will apologize for not reading the fantastic creative journey of the protagonist, but I'm judging the story based on the plot device, how apparently it plays out in the story world (which you can quickly get a sense of) and the ending.

It isn't too much of a spoiler to note that early in the story he'd already bumped into a dozen attractive young girls tagged by his system, at a rate of about 1/chapter, and had been gifted unearned rewards worth many millions at about the same rate (in addition to some some marginally useful skill rewards that largely went unused) ; I can't even imagine the number of female interests he must have wandered past, sampled, and left behind on his road to ending up choosing...

    Spoiler

    ... his blood-related AUNT! (Seriously?!)
    Ugh, dude. (Author!) Why?!
How is he going to live his life and explain this to the family. Who would choose to force anyone they cared about into this kind of situation rather than let them find someone they can love openly?!!! The only worst choice would have been his mom, or possibly perpetually luring married women into serial cheating on their spouses (ultimate scumbaggery).

    [collapse]

Lets not forget that, as of the ending, with the way the system is apparently set up, with future-knowledge, he must now be the richest man in the world, somehow anonymously (?) living in some random place; presumably with NSA satellites parked overhead and China's State Security Ministry secretly circling, trying to figure out if he is an alien or merely a teen with bizarre tastes.  Based on the "gifts" "earned" during the first 3-day period (~30 chapters)...

    Spoiler

... he should easily have been able to accomplish this and also topple major governments (future knowlege + omnilingual), become a super-assassin (fantasy kung-fu), actor, author and film producer (perfect recall + books and shows from his previous life).

    [collapse]

It quickly became clear that the system awards were meaningless, so I wanted to see if the protagonist did or ended up anywhere interesting. Turns out... nope! (Which is astounding that it took nearly 800 chapters to go nowhere.)

If you pick this up, feel free, after the first few chapters to do as I did and read the ending.  You too may involuntarily roll your eyes and ragequit.

I wouldn't give any stars, but suppose that the author has earned 1 star for grammar and for sheer volume of words typed. There is some creative work here, and decent writing, but this isn't a story... not really. It isn't creative (is fanfiction). It isn't even wish-fulfillment, because it fulfilled few wishes.

I suppose the best thing about this story is that it kept the readers and writer off the streets; who knows what people predisposed to this type of story might do otherwise, if they had more free time on their hands.

Overall, I liked it and it did make me angry that parts of it should have been better than they were but I think that means I was invested in it.

The main character is overpowered, assuming the author remembers. Instead of plot armor, this main character seems to have variable plot ability. He is strong when the author wants him to be and he is weak when the author wants him to be. I hate how the main character can become stupid for the sake of plot (the whole Fiancee Arc, hiding his strength and wealth from his women and his parents when that would've solved a lot of plot points)

It has a Pokémon style harem. I feel this was a mistake because it seemed like the author wanted the girls to feel like they had individual personalities, but just added so many girls it wasn't actually possible. There was a fair bit of screen time to the initial girls to give them a reason for falling in love but then in later chapters, it felt like main character just had to glance their way. The harem was so big I was losing track of who everyone was. Most are ignored after they have become his girlfriends and become background characters.

There are s*x scenes, which are honestly okay at best but a lot of it gets cut down to a single sentence, saying something like "They did something they shouldn't". This was fine with me since I don't really feel the R18 content was the author's strong point.

The first 300 chapters are painfully slow and the main character has the busiest life ever since those 300 chapters only cover 2 weeks. During this time, the main character constantly whines about not being able to get over his previous life's girlfriend. I really like the idea behind this since his reward of "enhanced memory" makes it impossible for him to forget, and he has to deal with his emotional baggage. However so many events take place in these 2 weeks (300 chapters!) that it's hard for the reader to not get annoyed at how whiny and slow it feels when the plot to get over her was:

    Spoiler

I want to write a book to say goodbye, oh no that didn't work I still feel bad, let's go have s*x with a cute girl, now I am better.

    [collapse]

Some of the chapters are just annoying, because it felt like the author had mastered the art of saying nothing with many words but I just skimmed through those.

The main reason I kept reading this I think was the fluffy scenes (often with Shina) that show up every once in a while, and some of the amusing moments such as the authors hatred for Sorta.

The ending came out of nowhere. I think the author just wanted to be done, so they decided to wrap up with Chihiro and kill it.

In conclusion I really wish this was better than it is, but I do not regret reading it.

I'm not much of a harem fan, but even with the tremendous number of women, it still makes you fall in love with each one, one of my favorite fics without a doubt, I wish the fic would never end, and I would like 10 daily chapters hahahaha

    Status: chapter 644: rejection

I'm not used to writing reviews but it's always good to start somewhere.

The novel is great, obviously it is a novel with a great harem in which the protagonist wins everything, the type of novel where the protagonist does not have difficulties and has no drama, a lighter type, more to relax.

Only sin of this novel is skipping 95% of the smut scenes. At the beginning there is a more boring part of the protagonist in conflict with being or not being a scumbag but it is still interesting to read even more the parts with the shiina and the development of the protagonist in relation to the system and relationships.

One of the funniest things is the hatred that the author has for sorata (I don't judge, I completely agree, completely justified).

The novel, even with so many relationships, is not boring, some characters end up having parts with less screen time but they come back in other parts and so on, there is a mixture with animes like baki and kegan ashura but it is not so much bullsh*t.

In general I think it's a great novel and I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for skipping parts of smut.
