raised in one of their special facilities. There, Rabeca’s talents bloomed and

was the one who developed the current version of the energy weapons the knights

use, making them many times more versatile in battle.

attacked the city. His brother protected him at the cost of his own life,

leaving the boy traumatized.

Compound

15 of the knights was located a mile away from the space elevator. A compound

composed of a variety of buildings.

"The last human city", floating in the sky, connected to the ground by a space elevator.

A city built around the space elevator, by people who werent able to get into the last human city. It has become the largest communal livin area in the world.

Parasites are a race of demonic parasitic worms that escaped

from hell when the gates were opened. They can infect almost any organism, but

because of their picky nature, they often chose a single prey to infect and

choose to ignore all other organisms that are not it.

Once a parasite enters a host, it begins to grow in size. It

forms a nucleus inside of the person’s body and grows a series of sharp,

tentacle like appendages it uses to take over the body of its victim from

within. Each appendage functions like a mouth as the parasite slowly devours

its host from the inside, eventually replacing all muscles and bones with its

own tentacles, leaving only the skin and the heart behind. Once the parasite

has completely devoured its prey, it eventually perishes and, from the nucleus,

several of its tentacles form into its young. It is unknown what determines

which tentacle will become a parasite.

The parasites appear to be highly intelligent, even able to

replicate human speech and habits.

Those who are contracted to demons are referred to as

contractors, while those who are contracted to angels are known as heroes,

although some chose to not distinguish the two and call them both contractors.

However, there is one

major distinction between the two and that is that angels do not need to die to

become contracted to humans, they simply offer contracts to humans who they

deem competent and in case of their contractor passing on they regain their

previous form and are able to offer others the same contract.

Demons, on the other hand,

only form contracts after death as a form of rebirth, slowly assimilating with

their host as their power grows.

Both contractors and

heroes are able to use magic based on what their contracted being held domain

over and summon their souls.

Contractors and demons are broken up into 4 ranks based on their demonic

energy: Contractor; Invoke; Titan; Demon. At the rank of contractor, the person

only has access to the bare minimum abilities, their general abilities, other

than regeneration, are similar to that of humans. The Invoke rank refers to a

contractor being able to invoke their power, taking on a demonic form by

screaming out the words: ”I invoke”. The titan rank contractors’ invocation

becomes larger and significantly stronger. When reaching the rank of a demon, a

contractor crosses a boundary where they are no longer considered human, this

is because they are able to freely shift between all three forms without

invocations and can manifest an aspect of their demonic powers in their human

form.

Magical weapons manifested from the souls of contractors and

heroes. Their shape and inherent abilities depend on the personality of the

wielder. A large amount of magical energy is required to summon a soul.

A standard knight weapon made by utilizing force-field technology. It

features a variety of shapes and models. Standard – is shaped like a broadsword,

Scorpion - is shaped like a curved saber, the curve can be changed or

accentuated to make it function like a hook. Spike – features a narrow rapier

like blade with adjustable blade length, Universal – a model that allows its

user to pick whatever mode that he wants. This model is a lot more difficult to

use as the wielder has to manually adjust the shape. X and Pretty-boy are the

only ones capable of using this model, and prettyboy finds that it is annoying

to use.

All the blades can be stored in a circular badge, making them appear only

when they are needed.

A weapon developed by Rebeca, when not in use, the techno great sword looks

like a metal suitcase. To use the weapon, the wielder pulls the handle up,

forcing and extending it into a position below the suitcase. The force field is

deployed, levitating a detached part about the size of half of the suitcase in

the air in order to support the blade. The weapon is highly durable and able to

cleave most contractors in half. It was designed to be used as a last resort

type weapon when combating Invoke class contractors, because of the shell that

surrounds their bodies during an invocation.
