To help his family rise from the ashes, Duan Fang will have to marry into an influential family. He wouldn’t mind if only Young Master Li proposed to him. But Li Hong has his own reservations about getting married and he might not dare to bring up what he deems to be his shortcoming in front of the person he holds dear.
This is a short and very sweet story about two people trying to find the courage to reveal their true feelings. We see their hesitations, their hopes, and their own reasons for not wanting to take that first step towards each other. The story also showcases a meaningful message from the author.
I found it very easy to sympathize with both the characters while reading their thoughts as they each try to interpret what the other says. The pacing is just right, and the atmosphere feels serene. The scenery is very beautifully written as well.
All in all, it was a short and worthwhile read. I'm definitely keeping this in my library to reread again :)
