Gotta say it's the almost cliché badboy-cute girl rom com story but add to it a ton of its own magic ranging from a pretty gracious amount of self awareness among characters not too deep but perfectly voices out the readers critiques about their flaws and helps them improve. And the toppings include a ton of action and romedy, just enough to have a good time. Not perfect but seems pretty close to it though. So overall good read, do check out the book 1 issue although it isn't necessary to since the story is followable starting book 2 eitherways but it's still entertaining. Can't wait for more but can't get Patreon since ain't got a credit card on me poor self.
Edit:
Ok. So, the multiple missing volumes of chapters might turn you off from reading, because most of them need a Kindle Unlimited subscription to read last I checked. But let me try to convince you otherwise, as athough they provide important context while being a fun read, it's really not absolutely necessary, as the author tries their best to make every volume as self-sustaining as possible— well, as much as an interconnected storyline can be without seeming extremely forced.
Now, understanding the why of why you should not be turned away by the missing volumes, and still read the lastest ones. I'll try to explain why I'm reading this cliché looking rom-com in the first place. It's because of: the neat grammar and dialogues, the very fleshed out characters— even though they are told in first-person by Soren that only helps us care for them as he does to, the background world-building which is still very minimalistic but has a lot of potential, the realistic character progression i.e. It's slow but that makes it all the more valuable, the hilarious comedy injected in every chapter to give respite in tense situations and awkward ones, and finally, the true romantic couple of the story between best devil Soren and the metaphysical concept of good, i.e. How the half-devil captain Mathias becomes one of the saviours of humanity, the endearingly named Magpie Wizard.
