It has fairly decent character development. You have a dumb and dense main character that seems try and be a decent person. This would normally be extremely annoying but the supporting characters are well done.
I binged read it till late into the night, than I rage quit the story. Than had trouble falling asleep, and continued reading. This I consider good writing, because it means I care about what happens.
The problem is that the story didn't have the tragedy tag that it now sports. I avoid anything with that tag or grimdark because I don't respond well emotionally to them. I had thought it was more a tragic past type story.
Sadly I can't enjoy the story as much anymore, mainly because I can't emotionally invest in the side characters. I expect them to disappear from the story at any moment. I can't enjoy their happy moments because there's always the impending doom on the horizon.
This means I'm stuck in wanting to know what happens next, but expecting to become an emotional trainwreck when something happens.
Once again, I consider this good writing, but it's not for everyone.
Also I can only think the god the brought him to this world as a evil deity that has damned the MC to eternal suffering.
