Synopsis

When Evan bridges the gap between worlds and away from his exhausting life driving freight, he has no idea how much greater it’s about to become.

A late night drive turns into an overpoweringly sexy adventure as Evan lands in a world where women are hot, men are rare, and sex is a magical coupling that bestows powers upon its participants.

But not everything is honeys and peaches in this new land. Conspiracies lurk in the shadows, and not all of the men welcome Evan to share in their sensual paradise. In this dog eat dog existence, Evan will have to constantly prove his worth and take everything he can grab.

Does Evan have what it takes to survive?

    The premise and setting are fantastic, it's kind of a medieval Mad Max/Connecticut Yankee/DnD mash-up, really engaging and the perfect setting for a wish fulfilment harem fic. The world-building and power/magic system are novel and exciting. The supporting characters are all distinct, although I feel too many were introduced at once, this isn't too much of a problem as it felt natural in the storyline. The smut is well-written and properly integrated into the plot and appropriately placed. Grammar, spelling, and writing quality are all perfect.
    With that all said, I have a love-hate relationship with this fic, or actually, love the story, but hate the protagonist. Please forgive the incoming rant, you can skip to the final paragraph. If you don't make it that far, just know that I encourage you to read this as my personal taste is subjective but the writing quality is objectively superb.

    As time went on I was finding Evan less and less pragmatic and dependable, and more and more unlikeable and incompetent, coming to a head during the dungeon arc. When he first transmigrated his main goal and motivation seemed to be something like; survive, open a shop, enjoy life, and protect his friends/lovers. This changes when he develops a hero complex and inexplicably risks his own and his party's lives by voluntarily rushing into a dungeon, woefully under-equipped, with no real idea of how it operates or what awaits him, and no incentive offered. The goal being to save a city filled with rapists from being killed and having their victims stolen by raiders, a place he has no real emotional attachment to, filled with undesirables who would gladly stab him in the back if it were in any way beneficial to them.

    On top of that, he's under-utilising his skills and system to a criminal degree. The 'Adrift' skill (transfer anything from Earth that he can lift with one hand) is world-breaking; modern weapons, armour, tools, communication, technology, knowledge, and all kinds of useful stuff is at his fingertips. Instead, he uses it to grab Pringles and ice cream to earn gold that he doesn't need.

    His decision-making is annoyingly inconsistent, properly thinking through some small decisions and plots, but not treating others or even massive decisions seriously or with enough planning and forethought. He draws comparisons to how game-like the world is, comparing it to fiction, and that is ultimately how he treats it. That in itself isn't bad, and the comedic elements and fun/flippant tone are also fine in the beginning, the problem is he hasn't earned the right to act that way, he's not some OP badass. After repeatedly having to rely on others to save him, and worse, when his poor decisions and lack of preparation inevitably lead to tragic consequences, he mostly just shrugs it off with no real regret or acknowledgement of shortcomings, going back to the same flippant tone and arrogant attitude, which just comes across as him lacking any self-awareness and plain unlikeable.

    There are also inconsistencies with how he deals with other characters, prioritising or picking sides and damaging the group dynamic as well as his relationships. A statement boiling down to 'because I said so' is how you talk to a child, not an appropriate response to a party member questioning a dangerous decision, and yet he's surprised when it isn't received well. He preaches forgiveness no matter what, but rightfully didn't forgive someone back on Earth, still, there are some extenuating circumstances here that haven't been fully revealed making it hard to comment further.

    Of course, a flawed protagonist can make a story much deeper and more interesting, and genuine mistakes are only natural. Initially, these weren't a big deal for me, but as they increase in severity, and his lack of self-awareness grows, it ultimately just irks me too much, and I'm unable to look past the character flaws and find it enjoyable enough to continue. The author is certainly talented, and seems like a really genuine guy, responding to most questions and comments. I'm sure I would adore this with a different protagonist, perhaps one who is darker - less arrogant hero complex and more pragmatic anti-hero, or even unabashed villain. Regardless, this isn't for me unfortunately, but I encourage you to give it a go, as taste is purely subjective, but the writing quality is objectively superb.

    Author! The intro is just disgusting! For what? Just why so kill a significant part of the intrigue and, in addition, limit oneself in the possibilities?

    I already have a negative opinion of the piece and I don't feel like it will change.

    ***

    And I was generally right.

    Outcome:

    I don't see the point in reading a work about a character who is dead in the soul. From a probably no less dead author. Therefore, I do not advise you to do this.

    After all, I have never felt satisfied with novels written with this attitude. No matter how good the plot and the construction of the world of such novels were, the emotions from reading them were always limited to depression and despondency.

    ***

    This piece followed the same path as "He Who Fights With Monsters". These two works initially had a too similar atmosphere, but then the similarity began to manifest itself in the same unpleasant qualities for me.

    Namely, in constant:

    haste often resulting in errors (MC got that coin for safekeeping, and never! never checked what was really in it. Also lord of "spice", territory, Fiin, etc.) ;

    Ignorance and constant thinking "I'm the smartest" and "I don't care" (MC did not bother to find out what laws are in the new world for a whole month spent in the city, but started a whole lot of changes in his territory without understanding the bigger picture;)

    Rudeness and an extremely limited ability of MCs to feel respect for authorities (These lords think differently, practice slavery, are cruel and insidious. But this does not mean that they are incompetent! Each of them has an outstanding quality, due to which they bypassed their obviously dangerous competition Orc "ink" was killed by a cheat, "spice" was killed by an anomaly, "dwarf" was killed by a wounded. It was not even a close battle of equals, but the MC continues to act arrogantly as if he is the strongest) ;

    Constant and pointless creation of enemies. ("spice" wouldn't have become an enemy so early if the MC had been polite and didn't show contempt for meeting the lords. A group of non-payers would obviously be enemies, but you shouldn't have awakened them when you already have 2 problems nearby.)

    Unwillingness and inability to accept reality and fit into the world (MC created his own small circle and sealed it with a wall, not caring about making connections or at least understanding who is the authority among his environment) ;

    Taking more weight than you can really handle (MC took 3 territories... He barely manages 1, and could exchange the extra ones for women or artifacts. He also for some reason began to improve the territory when he needs to improve his strength.) ;

    The atmosphere of Armageddon, even when nothing happens (yes, because it is clear to anyone that MC survives only on story armor).

    ***

    And:

    There is no development in the psyche of the protagonist, no development at all. (Is he a former warrior who survived more than one bloody battle? Nothing is said about this. Reactions to death are simply abnormal! There are no changes in thinking for any reason either, there are plenty of words, but in reality nothing has changed.)

    Indifference and lack of sincerity and self-sacrifice. (Yes, I care about these girls so much that I won't risk offending them, even if they die because of this. No sincere person will care about who those you love think you are; because for them, while with your beloved alive, the rest is not important!) (The reason for the death of the Horned One is generally disgusting, why was he in a hurry to complete this dungeon? For the sake of his territory? And lose someone with whom you were close for the sake of some passers-by? This is a despicable choice.)

    And in general, in general, a constant itchy feeling of falseness, emptiness and meaninglessness of what is happening. (The MC has gone with the flow, and continues to go with the flow. He does something not because he wants to, but because he "should" do it that way. He continues to make the "right" choice without thinking about what it leads.)

    Not even the beginnings of self-reflection. And this is extremely sad.

    ***

    Other reviews have explained it better, but the short of it is that the MC gets increasingly unlikeable. Culminating with him barely paying any mind to the death of an important character.

    Good concept, bad execution.

    I have a lot of good things to say about this book. I'm kind of amazed by the low star reviews. I don't get it.

    The NSFW scenes work (except for one thing later in book 1 that I didn't really love), and the writing is excellent. Characters are fun and three dimensional, ideas are cool and it's unpredictable.

    I'm happy to give it five stars.

    MC is weak and dumb, like the other review said not using skills properly.

    There are other males that make woman slaves and MC kill them and take their woman. If this is how MC gets more woman it is boring. Then also have some stupid ritual to cleanse the leftover woman from other males.

    I don't review stuff. I'm not good at it. But the story is great and it needs people like me to help it along if I want to see it finish and get to the end.

    MC is a trucker from our world and he doesn't always make the right decisions.

    And that makes him human.

    I wouldn't want it any other way. He goes through the world trying to deal with a lot of stuff in often a short time and I can say he's pulling it off better than I would.

    Tldr, it is good. Reminds me of Burke's Descend in many ways.

    Beautiful Isekai Harem Fantasy. Definitely 5 stars

    Average story about some average guy that gets transported to differnet world.

    MC is very weak character, his whole personality are stupid quips and chaotic behawior.

    World is shallow, no real intreduction, no climat or magic just bland medieval-esk sh*thole.

    Whole story is a excuse to write some very weak smute.

    There is nothing to be discover here.

      I have great hope for this work. The MC is relatable his drifter gifts don't seem to OP as of yet and his Earth knowledge is used a believable way. The s*xy times are great in quality and quantity and even though this is shaping up to be a harem novel I love his devotion to his first conquests.

    The system is great. It hits all of the solid points. The hero is a regular joe who is suddenly thrust into a world full of hot women in a society that he has been slowly coming around to understanding and even exploiting. It's cool that he isn't a jerk, and that he is trying to make things work despite his sometimes trope: anime cluelessness. It hits all of the right marks, and the style of the writer is absolutely wonderful. This is a story plus an erotica plus a litrpg, not just an erotica and not just a litrpg. Well done author!

    Was really good, but the latest arc is so bad plot wise that I am very close to dropping it. The MC is so stupid most of the time now and the situation the author has put him in requires so much plot armour that it is like he is a puppet to the author's plot machinations. I suspect the author thinks they are writing an epic level story but it's coming across as a dogs-breakfast, everyone/everything is too OP. Would have previously recommended this but not any longer. Still gets 3 stars based on the first part and a hope that this crap ends and something approaching an enjoyable fantasy romp returns.
