This is a nice power fantasy.  I think raven's dagger does the whole magical girl things well.  Crystal's got lots of little things that show the magical girl theme to her powerset well.  It is very straight forward and keeps a good pace without getting bogged down.

I will start by admitting that I am biased towards Magical Girls genre of stories and media. This is an interesting one with comedic elements but only because of main character Crystal. The POV of other Magical Girl, Nightmare seemed more level headed comparatively. Overall, its fun read and would definitely recommend to at least fans of the genre. Others might be confused a bit.

Reading this story was a real pleasure for me. And since you won’t face the same issue of waiting for the next installment, it should be even better!

Yes, it’s a magical girl story, but the characters still have their own depths. Yes, the girls are overpowered beyond their own understanding and ability to manage, but they don’t let that stop the action. Yes, the author still finds a heart-warming story set amid the chaos and commotion that ensues. And that story is very well written, too. Since that is about all I ask, I guess I am satisfied. The overall rating is 4.9 stars as I write this, and I think it really fits.

5/5 for entertainment: Novel length, and hard to stop reading. The reader is engaged by lively characters, intrigued by odd meetings and mysteries, and carried ahead by momentous events.

5/5 for writing: clean grammar supports clear, evocative prose, with a clever turn of phrase. Some of the best writing on Scribblehub. Better than most paperbacks in fantasy or science fiction.

5/5 for characterization: Different, recognizable individuals act true to their own natures, and can learn and grow if given a chance. (Crystal seems very blonde, like a parody of the stereotype.)

5/5 for storyline: well crafted; “the power of friendship” meets “oopsy” at the intersection of “great power” and “great responsibility”. They face challenges, triumphs and change. The reader wins.

4/5 for depth: not much for hidden meanings, metaphors or morals, but characters are faced with the consequences of their actions.  Given a half-serious question about poorly governed power, it is reasonable for a magical girl’s half-serious answer to be something about friendship.

24/25 overall: highly recommended.  Wait, can I make it mandatory?  If so, mandatory reading.

Doesn't earn the girl's love tag since there's more het then Yuri so far, although it's heavily implied that will change in future volumes. Aside from that it's a good read.

This is the tale of an epic battle between the embryo of a hero and the egg of a demon lord. Okay, so perhaps ‘epic’ is overselling it a bit, given that there are serious mobility issues on both sides of the conflict, but they&#
