What happens when humanity's greatest weapon gets a second chance at life? Commander Kronos wasn't even considered to be a human but rather a weapon to be used for the greater good of his species. He was grown in a tube to be the perfect weapon, so he lacked many emotions/experiences most people take for granted. Upon experiencing some emotions for the first time he was quickly eliminated by humanity and was reborn into a world of swords and sorcery, getting a second lease on life.
Of course, he didn't see it that way at the start and thought he was being fooled. It took a near-death experience and a lot of growing up, but he finally decided to keep his promise to his former comrades and give his new life an honest try.
Embark on the story of the former Commander of Hades Squad as he settles into his new life as the Dark Elf Kaladin Shadowheart.

Reminds me of "reincarnation of a jobless" but the MC is basically a space marine instead of a fat nerd. Love every chapter so far and can't wait for more. 100/10

Read this amazing story and just couldn't get enough! The worldbuilding and combat is fantastic along with even the inbetween and not so active points. This will definitelyhave you in a chokehold

This is another story that deserves a review. And a good one, IMO.
What do I like about this story? It's full of flawed people, in a dangerous world. Sh*t happens, characters are in danger. There is a real sense of urgency. This is so rare in these types of stories.
The story is well built in Volumes who shift tones. Especially Vol2. The world constantly changes and evolves, as do the characters, little by little. In a gradual and sloooow way, as you would expect from the broken people they are.
So yeah, I like it very much. Thanks for writing it, author.

Excellent story with fantastic writing and plot! The world is interesting as are the characters, and doesn't shy away from gut punches to your heart and soul. Updates are weekly and consistent, with ample warning given if a chapter is not going to be on time in which there was only one such case as far as I can remember. To summarize: If you want a story that's consistent, updates regularly, serious, and a good binge read, then I cannot recommend this story enough! Did I mention the excellent writing?

Not bad. Good grammar and general sentence structure. A really solid foundation I'd argue.
Unfortunately, this story is plagued with oddities of character actions and portrayals. There are a number of times when characters, especially the MC, act contrary to how they have been described/portrayed to that point. There seem to be gaps between how the author thinks of his characters and how the actual written story says those characters should act, think, feel, or perform in certain situations.
It feels a bit chaotic at times and I am often left questioning the flow or logic of a character's actions or thought process. Due to this, the characters often end up feeling like puppets strung along to the whims of the author rather than organic, consistent characters existing within the established world.
I'd recommend checking it out to see what you think about it since it is competently written; but for me, reading this feels a bit like driving over potholes every mile in an otherwise smooth and well maintained road.

Hello, I have just recently binged read this novel over the past couple days and I have thoroughly enjoyed this entire development across 6 volumes. I must say this novel alongside Wisher Beware and Home for Horny Monsters (a peculiar novel name I know) have completely won over my heart. I'm still new to the light novel world, so I haven't really discovered many reading websites, so I'm just try to find diamonds in the roughs on the sites I read on. I think of this novel as the core of what a proper reincarnation novel should be proper world development, nothing too over powered, real relationships and progression, romance as well, and most importantly character development. In a way, I find this to be the better Mushoku Tensei, I was honestly very dissatisfied with how things progressed in the later stages of the light novel and I just hated the ending of it which seemed extremely rushed and not even thought out properly. Here I am hoping we get a proper ending for this novel, and of course I shall continue to read this diamond of a novel in this website. Thank you for allowing to me to revel in your world RangerFrank.
Carpe Diem,

Man, this story is a rollercoaster. Like epic worldbuilding. The characters are so real, it's crazy. Yeah, there were some crazy coincidences and that weird shift around ch.100, but I'm hooked on how these peeps grow and handle stuff. Def recommend!

When I first found this story, I binged it as fast as I could and have been following it consistently ever since. The world is unique and interesting, and it has a degree of believable chacter development that I've not found in many other stories. With the way the volumes are structured, with each essentially having a particular focus (adventure, action, slice of life, etc.), the story remains fresh and varied while remaining true to characters and their choices.

Great story with plenty of twist and turns that leave you hanging to your seat.
The author managed to write one of the best character development I've had the pleasure to read till now.
Be it the relationships, the struggles, the light comedic scenes or darker dramatic ones, they were properly portrayed and made it easy to like the characters.

There is a lot to love with this story and I've thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in this universe. It does a good job of handling some of the common tropes that come up in these power fantasy wish-fulfillment stories (not a criticism at all btw!) and makes them seem rational. As a result, the characters consistently feel like actual people instead of clichés and you find yourself rooting for some while grudgingly understanding why another one is a bit of a jerk.
All that being said, I struggled whether I should put 4 stars instead of 5. My main critique was initially minor, namely, there were a bit too many deus ex machina/right place, right time coincidences. I do want to highlight that these were minor, and didn't detract that much from the story.
However, there is a pretty radical shift at the start of the 100s (which the writer acknowledges, to their credit) which I found jarring. I definitely think a couple of chapters in between would have been helpful. It was hard for me to go from A to B, and it felt more like A to β (like a whole new alphabet even!).
I gave it a chance, and now I can sort of see how we are getting to C (back to our original alphabet!). Ultimately, that's why I gave this a 5. I am invested in how these characters. I want to see how they handle events and handle relationships and also develop their cool powers. That's a 5/5 in my book.
