Abyss Types:

Fighter: Above average combat abilities, and make up a majority of all abyssals. Can utilize any weapon although typically they will utilize whatever they used before corruption

Mage: Types focused on casting abyssal alignment spells. Due to their active soul consumption, it is very common for mages to die from overuse. 

Assassin: Incredible combat abilities but can be killed easier than the other types. Usually have some type of ability that allows them to become invisible or avoid detection. Used for assassinating high profile targets

Spy: Special Variants given the ability to mimic regular people. They are focused on gaining information and sowing distrust among regular people.

Control: Weakest combat abilities of all types and are rarely trained in using magic. In exchange they are able to control and command lower units. Typically used in larger scale battles as information and commands can be shared instantly without needing to verbally speak them. Due to their ability to control other units, they are usually brainwashed more severely than others to avoid the potential of rebellion.

Nicknames: Goddess Lenora

Lenora is one of the many gods and goddesses that govern the world. She is one of the goddess that are assigned to deal with summons and reincarnations. Often feels guilty about stealing souls from other realities. Just hopes that one day she won't have to pull foreign souls into the world anymore.

Real name: Nicole

Nicole is a fox beastman. She has above average physical strength and mana for her age and would often be regarded as a prodigy, if not for her inability to properly focus. Studying and learning is second to everything else for her. She is a social and energetic girl, but she often has issues with properly expressing complex emotions to those she cares about.

Real name: Calliope Argen

Nickname: Witch, Red Witch

Calliope is a Witch working alongside Mr. Johnston. She specializes in normal alignment and dark alignment spells, often using catalysts and mana crystals to supplement her lack of internal mana. She is often reckless and has issues with judging other people, but she often means well.

Nickname: Johnston, Mr. Johnston

He leads the local guild, although due to living in such a remote town he has the liberty of having a large amount of free time. He often spends this time hunting to deal with local requests and shares his spoils with the local orphanage. While he will never admit it, he has feelings for Ms. May.

Real name: May Floer

Nickname: Ms. May

She is the woman who runs the orphanage with the assistance of her adopted daughter, June. Taking care of the kids is her main priority, and she does everything in her power to make sure that all of the orphans in her care either end up adopted by a loving family or ready for the real world.

Magic system:

Magic spells work by spending mana, something that regular people regenerate over time. Spells require a specific alignment to function, but they do not need an element. The alignment and element or lack of determine the spell’s function. Some alignments and elements have special reactions when used against or in conjunction with each other. 

The abyss alignment is special in that it can use more elements than the other alignments and uses the energy of the soul instead of mana. Abyssals do not possess mana and as such cannot physically use magic from the other alignments.

Fire: fire, at higher levels can be used to melt surroundings

Water: water, can also manipulate and utilize poisons and other liquids at higher levels of mastery

Thunder: Energy and electricity. Can be used to give people energy or force seizures at higher levels of mastery

Ice: Most efficient magic energy wise. Can be used to absorb energy from surroundings at higher levels of mastery

Earth: can manipulate the ground and wind. At higher levels control of plant life is possible

Abyss alignment only elements:

Blood: manipulation of the “impure” blood of people. While weaker than other types due to the mastery required, it grows stronger in places where pain and death occurs

Null: Null element attacks require a large amount of soul energy and are weaker than all but blood aligned magic, but in exchange are unaffected by the surroundings. They cannot be canceled or stopped by walls, only stopping once coming into contact with a target or upon moving a certain distance

"sc": if a chapter has sc in front of it instead of chapter that just means it is a side chapter and is usually some short event or exchange between characters that I couldn't quite fit into the main story. They also do not follow the naming convention normal chapters do.
