Synopsis

He looked at the mask that was still on the table and stared at it. He grabbed it and said with a mix of sorrow and regret, “Looks like this is the end for us buddy. We can finally put all this chaos to rest.”

Or so he thought.

As Liam was getting ready for the inevitable doom that the world promised, he was suddenly transported without warning. Not to a castle, not to an academy, not even to a King's audience room where a princess was waiting. Instead he is transported to a Tutorial Area hidden away in a cavern.

Here he learns that magic is real, monsters exist, classes are a thing, and potions need a new recipe. This is all great and everything until his starting class is suddenly changed due to some foreign interference in his body giving him a Non-Combat Class...Crafter.

As if things couldn't get any worse he has to find a team who would accept him, try to figure out how to survive in the Portal he was assigned to, and kill monsters while trying not to die. However, the first two things on his mind is to fix the nasty taste left behind from drinking potions and trying not to lose to Upchuck Roulette.

New Arc starts after Tutorial 140. New Arc starts with Adventure 141.

All chapters below 141 are the Tutorial Arc while Adventure 141 - current are part of the next Arc. Working Title Arc is New Arrival Mayhem Arc.

Chapter release scheduling will be Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

New word count after Chapter 140 is roughly between 2500 to 4500.

Upchuck Roulette is not something I thought I would chuckle about. Here we are though, my little giggles sneaking out every time a portal comes up.

I give this story a solid 4 stars. The main reason I withhold the last star is because in the early chapters, our beloved MC sometimes has random moments that feel super out of character. Most of it does make sense eventually, but at the time it feels very jarring and the whiplash kind of rips you out of the story for a bit.

If you can get past those few moments though, the rest of this story is incredibly entertaining. A well done, if somewhat complicated, system. Realistic social dynamics. Fights that are engaging and not over or under explained. Very fun crafting segments. I look forward to seeing more!

No idea why this novel isn't more popular... The writing in the first few chapters is a bit rough, but both the writing, plot, and characterization improves as the story goes on.

The first 50 chapters or so are probably closer to three-stars.. but the story keeps improving and I think the writer deserves some more traction on the site.

    Keep up the good work!

The story, world building and mysteries around the plot are some potisive points, yet, there two very annoying thing:

    1. The MC. He's weak-willed, wimpy, and always loose himself in his emotions at the worse moments, while being edgy at the same time, and worse, never learn/grow from it. And this makes some fights full of angst and quite a pain to read tbh, especially because the pace is really slow.
    2. The notifications. The system and attributes are quite interesting and detailled, but we have 20 lines of notifications to go through after each fight. For example if the MC is going to gain 4 levels in Mental resistance, you'll have this
      Spoiler

"Congratulations! Mental Resistance – Whispers from Beyond has reached level 2! Progression to level 3: 100%!""Congratulations! Mental Resistance – Whispers from Beyond has reached level 3! Progression to level 4: 100%!""Congratulations! Mental Resistance – Whispers from Beyond has reached level 4! Progression to level 5: 100%!""Congratulations! Mental Resistance – Whispers from Beyond has reached level 5! Progression to level 6: 90%!"

      [collapse]
instead of just one sentence to say
      Spoiler

Congratulations! Mental Resistance – Whispers from Beyond has reached level 6: 90% from level 2!"

      [collapse]
. Going through all of these notifications is a pain, especially with all the subcategories to remember of, it's just increasing artificially the words count.

If you don't mind the two points above, the story is worth reading.

I'm honestly confused to why this isn't more popular because it's a pretty well made story. It might go into too much detail of the events at times causing the story to go a bit slow, but that can be both a positive and a negative. I recommend it regardless.
