When Zeta Faleur suddenly grows fangs and creates a literal thunderstorm in her room, it can only mean one thing: She's a Cani. At Rising Shards, a Cani boarding school, she meets Oka Ohri, a kind hearted girl who she forms an immediate bond with.

Fresh out of ending a tremendously bad relationship, Zeta isn't sure she's ready for her blossoming feelings for Oka, but as she works through those, she also must learn how to use a bloodsaber, fight monsters, fulfill requirements for a complicated scholarship, make new friends and new enemies, as well as keep up with all the other oddities in Cani life, she also has to learn if she's ready to move on from her sad past with her ex on her way to a potentially happier future with her crush.

    Status: “the unrequited harmony” (24.5)

This story is like the best slice of life anime that was never written.

The main cast and most of the storyline is cute girls doing cute girl things.   This is taking place on a very creative setting with so many quirky details crammed seemingly everywhere.

But on top of that, we also have a starkly realistic portrayals of emotional abuse and the effects that it has on the MC.   What is most impressive is that these two sides of the story manage to fit together so well.  We really get a feel for Zeta and when she is going through.

The MC is a trans girl, but that fact is almost completely irrelevant so far.

    Status: “club sandwiches” (10.5)

Very well written! Funny and lovable characters all around, and can be serious when it needs to. Adorable slice of life with a plot that doesn’t feel like it’s dragging its feet.
