Have you ever wondered what Harry Potter should have been like, if Harry really was treated like he was by the Dursleys and then by the kids at school? Me, too. Let's see what happens.
I'm writing this for fun, and it's been fun. 馃槉
Harry Potter is (TM) and (C) J.K. Rowling. Image grabbed from Google and edited with title.
First time leaving a review in this site so... I'm just stating my personal opinion on the story.
Always glad for stories that have a proper ending. Not rushed nor convoluted. I don't think there were storylines within it that wasn't properly tied up at the end.
As for the realistic part, the role people around Harry really was realistic in my opinion. As for Harry himself, he did show signs of being a slytherin but for the most part... I give the credit to his occlumency. I mean, occlumency is automatic for a true slytherin whether they get sorted to it or not.
A bit sad bout Hermione tho at the same time it does make sense and in line with her personality. Plus I'm biased towards Luna from the canon books and movies. Didn't like Ginny too, and when the canon ended with Ginny as his wife.... I honestly thought it was unhealthy... it felt weird for me back when I was in HS, that's why the manipulative Dumbles was more realistic for me than the senile one.
I love how Snape is in the story. I don't know how much I could tell without spoiling it so I just won't tell. Again, thanks for the great read.

This whole thing is not really based on if Harry himself was more realistic but if the Ministry of Magic had more competent and well-meaning people in positions of authority.
That said, I love it.
Harry is slightly more realistically portrayed as someone who is recovering from an abusive family. His seemingly miraculous recovery (read as displayed Public Persona) is the facade that slowly whittles away as we see his callous disregard for the lives of people he doesn't care about, his slow-turned-abrupt emotional relationships and his need for an anchor in his life in the form of a mother figure, a father figure, and a friend/lover/sister. He swings from emotional extremes as one may expect of someone who had been emotionally stunted due to threats of physical/emotional violence when displaying anything but obedience to those with power over them. His taking friendships as sacred and the violation of them to be dealbreakers are indicative of trust issues and lack of support during early childhood. A whole bunch of different little behaviors he displays really do whisper to the kind of coping mechanisms he built around himself to survive so long in such a horrible place. So many little signs that yes, he's not completely well but he slowly deals with it with help that is very much needed in situations like that.
Overall, I feel this was a very good read. Didn't need the relationship to be like that to be as good as it was at the end, but it was still nice and fairly satisfying ending as it did.

I'll just say this is soo good. Don't listen to reviews that are not past c30 people just don't like how sometime situation like that can easily be viewed as bullying to others in certain situations. Read it for yourself and make your own informed opinion it very much worth the read!

It's been ages since I laughed and shed tears while reading something.
This brings so much memories while feeling like a new story. This is really much more realistic than what the original story told us. Don't get me wrong, the books will always have a special place in my heart. But for those who have read them, this is a must read. The writing is on point and I can't find a flaw at the moment in the kind of story telling the autor has chosen.
What are you doing here, go read it !

It isn't a copy of the original characters, and I might disagree with some of the ways people react. However, it is a nice take on how things might have been, and it isn't just about a harem or something. It is fun to see how the characters push each other. (Hedwig will always be the best character. Fight me)

Every chapter makes my day (or night). Though I think that Harry and Hermione act a bit too mature for 11 years old. Also Harry becomes too OP. It might be disturbing in the future, if author doesn't give a good explanation.
And where is Peeves? He is not a ghost, right? Right?
