Jacob, suffering under an unknown illness for all his life, is ready to say goodbye to his life. His friend Sam is the only person who cares about him enough to ever come visit him at the hospital he's been bedridden at for over a year, and he can feel himself getting weaker by the day.
However, this all changes when Kara, a budding witch in need of a familiar, visits him, ready to offer him a new life as her familiar. He accepts, but Sam gets roped into this by accident. When they both awake to new bodies, it leads to them reexamining who they are and what they truly wanna make of themselves.
