I like the author and his other works quite a lot... and this is a promising story. I'm always hungry for any kind of monster story, and it's a plus that it's some kind of undead (not really undead but with some of the characteristics of them, like a Dullahan but something more resembling Alphonse from Fullmetal Alchemist), which is quite rare. Necromancers are always getting more love... Hahahaha. And having some crafting aspects which this author is a master in depicting will be quite interesting. Looking forward to more chapters.

When the MC said he wanted go on adventures, I was pretty stoked to see Kuropon do something new, and was pretty interested in what he'd cook up for an adventuring story. Wasn't all too enthusiastic about the cliche captured princess plot, but at least it didn't last too long and got some critically important character development out of the way. Now that all the loose ends have been tied up, we can move forward on that adventure, and wow, look at that a conveniently placed large trading city situated on the coast, perfect place to start adventure---
"Hey, Roland, err I mean Rusty, how about we go to this small, underdeveloped, village, with an unexplored dungeon, and settle down as a blacksmith for a while?"
"That sounds like a grand idea" says Roland, err I mean Rusty.
Are you serious? Just change the title to 'The Blacksmith' already.
The story is fine, I guess, but I'm not happy, and I won't be doing a more proper review on a bait and switch.

Another one where the MC seems to avoid killing humans for moral reasons despite being a monster.
Didn't even get past Chapter 4 - First Kill, but I'm glad I didn't waste too much time here.
The author is doing his best to make it seem like the MC only hesitated momentarily due to inherited memories, but then he still failed to kill the human.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining that the MC is not a murderhobo. I'm complaining about the author. I have no trust in him to write a decent monster story.

You have to a character that does not know what being human is yet through the very act of struggling to live and grow gains some small bit of humanity.
Rusty is a living armor in a dungeon with just a dash of extra. Through his struggles he learns, grows, and evolves into his own person, maybe even gains a soul in his empty metal shell.
This is very well worth the read as a unique fantasy adventure with a non human main character.
