Species Hierarchy

The species hierarchy is based primarily (but not always) on level of power and intelligence. In a Species Hierarchy any member of that hierarchy can interbreed and produce fertile offspring. There are exceptions to this rule in which members of the Hierarchy can not interbreed. The Hierarchy is as follows: Lesser, Normal, Greater and True. In Some societies such as  human, elven and orc “True” may be replaced with “Higher”, or “Divine” but are separate from Gods.

An example of this would be the Druid Hierarchy:

  1. Nature Father (True Druid)
  2. Dryad (Greater Druid)
  3. Druid (Normal)
  4. Treant (Lesser Druid)
Lesser

The lowest members of a Species Hierarchy are usually unintelligent or of very low intelligence and some may consider monsters although there are exceptions. Some species turn into their lesser variants temporarily or permanently for various reasons. Species such as the werewolf consider their wolf transformation a lesser variant despite being physically stronger because they lose intelligence in the form.

There are instances in which a species will classify an ethnicity of their race a Lesser because of ideology or appearance biases. This happened in the case of the elves and the goblins. While both are technically elves, goblins are considered Lesser despite being just as magically,  intellectually and cognitively capable.

Elf Hierarchy

  1. Ljósálfar (True Elves)

  2. Emerald Elves (Greater Elves)

  3. Elves

  4. Goblins (Lesser Elves)
Greater

A greater is usually the offspring of a True and any of the lower members of the Hierarchy. These individual share the closest connection to the True and may have a deeper spiritual connection. Alternatively they may be an avatar of a True that manifests because the True cannot fully cross over into the lower planes.

Demon Hierarchy

  1. Devils (True Demons)

  2. Behemoths and Leviathans (Greater Demon)

  3. Demons

  4. Cambion (Lesser Demon)
True

The True are beings from Higher Planes. They are worshiped and feared all around the world. Many cultures call them many different things, some Divine, Higher or True. They are directly responsible for creating many of the races across the world today. Little is known about the True or the Higher Planes but it is known that there are just as many malicious entities out in the wider cosmos as there are benevolent ones.

Gods

The Gods exist within the space between realities, though little to nothing is known about them or their roles in the greater cosmos. Despite their silence, the Gods are ever-observing entities, possessing power beyond existence. Most people either do not believe in these entities or simply do not worship them, favoring instead the True, who are revered as Creators and play a far more significant role in the lives of mortals.

The story is fine and has potential. The only real reason for the review is to let potential readers know that the synopsis and tags are quite misleading and stop others from thinking this is a story about the Hydra MC. The synopsis and tags lead you to think the story follows Bjorn, the non human MC who is a reincarnated mage, but it really isn’t his story at all. Once you get to about Ch 30 or so Bjorn’s impact on the story completely diminishes and he gets essentially no screen time. He basically becomes less than a side character. At some point he’s only mentioned every 3-4 chapters. It’s clear that as the story progressed the author changed his vision for the story. The real story is really about the female lead who happens to have a familiar. Which is fine and on its own might be exactly what you’re looking for. But I know a lot of people like myself absolutely love the non humanoid MCs and this story was recommended on Reddit for that but it’s really not that at all.

Not like story. Tag say Litrpg, but story not litrpg, has no real system, just little menu for Supposed Main Character to see his "stats". There no influence of system to character.

Then Supposed Main Character suddenly not Main Character any much. Then even not Character. Story is lie. Don't trust story.

A solid read. Most monster MC stories I come across quickly devolve into a pattern of: kill stuff > get stronger > meet some kind of antagonist that's too strong to beat > kill more stuff then beat them all while mostly ignoring relationships. This story doesn't do that because there's an actual story to follow, killing isn't the only way to get stronger, and there are TWO protagonists.

The characters have reasons for what they do. Some might be saying that Bjorn (the hydra) isn't a MC because a lot of attention is on Freja, but the alternative would've been a mostly mute monster with only a voice in his head to talk to, so I say the author balanced that well. Freja's side of things is what actually pushes the story along because she has a built up background already while Bjorn is going to start off clueless with no connections and needing time to build up.

The story isn't perfect though since it really falls short on the descriptions for example:

    Spoiler

"The first was the small goblin woman in the group. Her green skin, tail and a beauty that would make a super model jealous was a dead give away for the lesser elf." That is her entire description. It's common for light novels to be a bit light on descriptions, but in this case I was left wondering if she was bald and naked.

You might have to put your imagination to more work than in some other stories, but I was enjoying the first book enough that I didn't notice this until much later in the story. Here's hoping book 2 only improves my opinion.

I love this story more than any other I’ve read on these sites. To me, it’s ranked among some of the light-novel greats that have been published and are known the world over. Your writing, characters, and world building really get one invested in the story; I’m unwilling to let go at this point and hope you will continue until I can one day buy physical copies of this book/series. I’m looking forward to seeing Tanasha and Bjorn on my bookshelves someday. Thank you for your excellence!

Really interesting so far great writing and story, relatively still at the beginning but a lot has already happened at chapter 18 as I'm writing this.

The gist of the story is good. World building is fun to read. Characters are have decent individual personalities but the writing style is rough it lacks a sense of feelings the characters and reader should be experiencing.  An example is that almost every place MC has visited has no emotional atmosphere to the story. To the MC each place she visits is just that, a place. There is 'no atmosphere of happiness and peace' the perforated the people or 'a place of terror and despair' that spills outwards'. The world changes chaotically but the people do what-they-do with no conviction, spite or remorse. They don't curse God, try to convince themselves or rationalise irrationality mere do as the story decides. Overall a good read if a bit rough. Hope it keeps going.

Great story, really makes me look forward to each new chapter to read what happens next.

The plot is engaging and the characters are decently fleshed out, though more detail here would be appreciated. Rather than this being because the characters are bland, it’s that they’re not, and because I already like them that I want to know more. Great job with the different cultures so far, I like the other races are not just ‘humans with antlers’, but have their own customs face forward. Not an easy thing to write, so thank you for this work.
