I don't normally like cultivation / wuxia / xianxia novels with their fake mana fisticuffs, exaggerated arrogant asshole characters, unnecessarily flamboyant ranking systems, and general template of "looked down on > miracle encounter > offend everyone > convenient mid-battle power-up with local lord / sect leader > now stronger than everyone in the area > move to new area and be weakest again > repeat".

This story is nothing like any other cultivation novel I've read before, even the other satire / parody novels. This one is actually good!

The MC is kind of arrogant but like a 1 compared to the average wuxianqian MC being a 10, which is refreshing, and it's also portrayed well and fits her instead of the forced or exaggerated feeling I get from normal cultivation novels. The inclusion of SCP stuff is really interesting and I enjoy seeing how Jing can mess with everyone's common sense so casually, though I do have a complaint about that below. I like the diversity of the other characters as well; those who had any notable amount of screen time are slowly being fleshed out in contrast to the general mob of sect members who very much fit my cultivator stereotype and make a nice background against which the other characters can stand out.

I would rate 5 stars if two things are changed:

      1. Please, for the love of all things, number the chapters! I don't have a freakin clue how far I am through the novel because the chapter list is just a sea of words! Anyone reading this review will see I was at "Falling In A Hole" when I wrote it, but is that chapter 5? 10? 100? NO ONE KNOWS!! Switching between reading on my computer and my phone would be a nightmare without Scribble Hub's bookmark thing, but I'd still like to know where I am in the story.
      2. More detail on the SCP abilities would be nice. The ones Jing doesn't get we learn absolutely nothing about, not a name or any sort of physical description. I can kind of understand this. However, the ones Jing does get, we're only given the most vague explanation or name and then it might not get mentioned again for a dozen chapters, when all of a sudden Jing pulls it out and starts using it or considering which ally would benefit from it, and we still have no clue what it is! Each reference to an SCP being a link to the relevant page on the SCP Wiki would be appreciated, at the very least.

It's a campy cultivation novel equivalent of an 80s slasher horror flick - lots of corny and bold situations and gore, lots of things that would not fly for a more serious work, but it all works here, because we (the readers) didn't come for serious plot and character development, we came for... Well, this. Super exaggerated clichés with faces slapped left and right generously sprinkled with overly flamboyant fights. It's a comfortable novel to read.

The Novel is an amazing read, the content strings together a bunch of cliches and makes it turn out in a completely different manner making the book fairly fun to read. The author doesn't really do Gacha in a manner you would expect from the title, in fact, it's more of a normal system based novel you see anywhere else, but ain't focusing on at all making the MC appear as if they focus on their own power instead of a System which I highly appreciate.  This book actually showcases somethings that aren't really touched upon in a Xianxia, like say hiding your power as an evil protagonist that's cultivating a group that is subordinated to you, whilst you play the meek weak black female protagonist that's very rare to see in and of itself. The novel is a great read, and since I saw that no one made a review, that I would lmao.

The prologue is quite absurd and would make u think "ah here we go again with another OP brainless MC", but once u got pass that, it's a very fun read. The MC is protective of her subordinates, but other than that she does things quite unpredictably following both her oen desires and the system missions, morals be damned.

The story started out strangely to me, but very quickly got me interested. I find myself reading the new chapters as soon as I see them. In my opinion, this is a great novel and worth the click.
