As a reader, Cristopher always looked for things that entertained him, didn't matter what the "critics" said, all that matters was his own opinion on the novel, so he started reading "The Novel's Extra", a webnovel that despicts an author who is transmigrated to his own novel. It was fun and all with its own good and bad points, really, one of his favorites novels at the end of the journey, and that's taking into account the little fact that he didn't have too many things he was able to enjoy, not in that empty shell that was called life for him... But... for better or worse... everything changed one day, the same day he woke up to discover he had the same fate of the author whose novel he just finished reading, becoming an extra in a novel, becoming The novel's extra's extra...

/Ok, now that's the description I thought of... first of all, for those of you who are reading this, if any, a few points I have to make clear:

1. I'm not an english native speaker, so if you find anything wrong in the text, please let me know, that would help me learn, and I would be thankful for that.
2. I'm writting this out of pure "enjoyment", so while I'll try to be constant, I'll not make any promises.
3. True reason why I'm writing this is because I'm going through a moderate to crippling depression right now (and no, is not because anything trully bad and horrendous happened to me, it seems to have something to do with my brain's malfuctioning, among other things), and doctors told me to try writing as I enjoy reading. So yeah, this is more like a self-help excercise, to keep myself distracted while trying to be safe from my self.
4. I choose to make a fanfiction of "The Novel's Extra" as I don't trully know how to write, and because I really loved that webnovel, though there are some points I didn't particulary liked.
5. If you see some (let's be clear, really much) self insertion on this series, well, that may be me trying to escape reality, to which I make an early warning and disclaimer, and also ask for forgiveness, as I said before, this is more of an excercise, so don't take it too serious.
6. I'll be a slow writer, as I have to still check a few things from the novel, even when I've read it like 3 or 4 times already, and because I know shit about writing a novel or a series.
7. If you get to enjoy this, then that's good, I would be glad about it, maybe even more motivated, but I don't really expect this to be any good.

Fates Parallel is my first serious attempt at writing a story, and a personal love letter to Eastern fantasy and xianxia stories. It's heavily inspired by East Asian culture, folklore, and mythology, with what is likely going to be a decidedly Western artistic license. Prelude:

A twi'lek orphan girl in a slum on Ryloth was about to give up hope; she was hungry and sick, beaten from a fight with a bunch of other orphan kids, for the scraps of food they could find in the trash piles. She was sitting on the side of a dark alleyway, enduring the pain of hunger to lessen her hunger and thirst she drunk water from a dirty puddle, yesterday. Now she had a fever. She knew that it was a risk, but she had no other choice... Now it will be over at least faster, she thought with sadness, but also relief. With her hazy mind, she finally realized that someone was standing before her, a tall man, a human man? She couldn't make out his features. At least she will not be alone in her last moments, suddenly she felt happy, it was probably from the hunger, she felt light-headed, her reasoning was gone. Her heavy eyelids slowly closed.

The stranger was looking at the small probably five or six year old girl. He looked at the girl, but there was no pity in his aging eyes. Only realization.

- So be it. He said.

The force made him come to this place. It led him into this alley at the right time to save this light gray-skinned twi'lek girl. She was a bastard child of a whore, most likely dropped on the streets, or orphaned in some other typically cruel way. It did not matter to the bearded man. What mattered was that he could sense the force in the girl. He knew that she was the one he came for. He picked up the girl, and walked back to his ship, hastily.

- Don't die on me now, after all that trouble to find you. The man cursed while breathing heavily. He was old, his beard was entirely white. The spring in his steps and deep wrinkles were tell-tale signs of a battle-hardened veteran. Or at least a hard life, with heavy physical labor.

The man ran up the ramp of his ship, into its medical room. Carefully placing the trembling, feverish girl on the table while two different medical droids booted in and started to scan the girl's body. Each droid had four different arms, giving the girl antibiotics and bacta poultices on her forehead, with at least a few doses of immune re-invigorators with energy infusions. <<less

Come along for the story of the Princess, nicknamed "Prince" for her more masculine and tomboyish nature, and the Mage, often attributed to a doll for his more feminine and androgynous appearance making him quite pretty and beautiful. They are complete opposites in appearance, but their hearts are twinned together in fate. They just don't know it yet.

This, like Fae King's Desperation (another of my stories), is planned to not be as long as Cyber Heart or Love & Obsession, but we'll see how it goes. The romance between the two main characters doesn't happen in the first several chapters. It builds up as they discover that their feelings are more than just friendship. Once they realize it, the romance will go quicker.

There are power struggles and conflict between Gwen and the other Nobles and Royalty, but most are handled quickly due to Gwen's preparation in the last twelve years. If you're not a fan of conflicts being resolved relatively easily, then this story isn't for you. It will focus mainly on the slice of life aspects of the main characters and eventual romance, with a dash of rebellion on the side.

Now after she has gotten out of that hellish place with the help of her Semblance, her life should get easier, right? Utterly false, no matter how much she wants to be left alone, how much she wants to be free, her 'captors' just don't allow her that privilege by trying to hunt her down and effectively turning her into a self-defending torturing murder machine.

Why a self-defending one? Because she doesn't kill or attack people on her own accord, she only does it if and when she gets attacked. So for years she has been fighting and fighting so she could feel some of the freedom that she wants.

There Is only one person that she owes payback, a person who is the bane of her existence. She vowed to herself that he will be the only person she'll ever kill without any self-defense, she'll go for the kill, but not before making them pay for the life she's been living.

But because she was locked away for most of her life, she is out of touch with the 'common' and the 'standard' that other people are used to, so because of that, she's been ostracized even more, not to mention that her being a Faunus, already has given her more hate than she deserves.

The only shining beacons in her life are her adoptive moms, her girlfriend, and her Wife, it helps her a lot, knowing that she at least has somebody.

But... as there's darkness and light in every corner of the world, she has her own darkness, in a form of ???
