The story takes place in a world separate from any Yu-Gi-Oh universe but very much inspired by them (Just more futuristic), and I'm still pondering as to if I will bring some characters from other universes over (As of this moment, I'm siding with not doing so, but it's still a possibility).

Mature tags in there but don't expect 18+ chapters right away. They will always take second place in the plot.

Frank didn't know what waited for him as he drifted away to his final sleep. He expected relief. He hoped for it. From the regrets that came back to gnaw on him in his last moments, when he had no way of escaping them.

What he didn't expect was being given magical cards to defend himself, minutes from waking up into a new world.

He was now Champion, among hundreds of others, in some sort of divine Olympics where literal gods would be watching, where they would be given levels and magical cards that could cast spells, conjure weapons out of thin air, or even summon beasts to do their bidding.

And he would need all the cards he could get. Especially once he learns of the debt he now owes, and once he realizes that he might not be the only one brought back to life.

As for the gods? They had their own plans for these trials. For this new crop of Champions. And only a few of them are aware of the connection these Trials had with the mysterious Chasm, the looming cataclysm that had been steadily approaching for centuries.

What to expect

This is a deckbuilding LitRPG, so expect card choices to matter.

There will be a heavier focus on action whenever a Trial is ongoing, and a mix of intrigue, worldbuilding, action and slice-of-life whenever there's downtime.

This story has a form of stats, but they're not prominent and will show up rarely.

And last warning, which I'm including because this type of magic is pretty divisive: This story contains mild mind magics and it cannot cause a loss of agency. The closest is I could compare to is Soothers and Rioters from the Mistborn series. The details will be revealed later on as I don't want to spoil everything, but this is worth the heads up.

Inspired by stories and games such as Omniscient Reader, Slay the spire, Hades, and a bunch of others.

Also, English isn't my first language, so let me know if something sounds awkward.

With his vacation time finally here, Mike was determined to make it special and unforgettable. Through his uncle Ross, 51 years old, he booked them a room at the fanciest resort hotel in the Caribbean, with luxurious amenities and stunning views of the beaches - a perfect place to spend some quality time together.

Mike and Jessica arrived at the resort hotel, nestled in the rolling hills of the countryside. They had been traveling for days, and were both eager to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and soak in the peace and serenity of their new home. The countryside was lush and green, and the sun shone brightly through the trees.

As they pulled up in front of the hotel, they were welcomed by an elderly gentleman. Mike recognized him immediately as his uncle, whom he had not seen in many years. He introduced Jessica to his uncle Ross, and the old man beamed. Mike could tell that his uncle liked Jessica immediately, and that she had made a good impression.

Uncle Ross was tall, had a big round stomach and had long fingers like a man who has spent most of his life playing piano. He had a kind face, but his thin lips also seemed to hint at a certain level of severity.

His hair was thinning, and he smelled like he had been sweating his whole life, like working a full day in the hot sun. Jessica found it endearing, and felt it almost so inviting that she wanted to give him a hug, even though it was the first time she met him.

This is my first try at writing a netorare novel, honest feedback / critique appreciated.
I played a lot of NTR (Netorare), netorase and other kinds of games on F95Zone, which inspired me to try to create my own.
As a fan of AI and ChatGPT, I tried to use sudowrite to create a prompt filling in the gaps, doing multiple rewriting.
Story is heavily inspired by the game "King of Summer".
