The MC can die and although he can always respawn he might lose progress due to this. I personally enjoyed the thrill of watching the walking death or game of thrones because there aren't any invincible characters. If your not comfortable with the risk of progress loss then I wouldn't recommend reading this novel.

The MC isn't a hero, I wouldn't call him evil or anything but he still believes that it's a game. It will slowly start to matter more to him and he won't consider his people nothing more then just NPC's or anything like that. But he will be able to make cold choices if it's truly necessary. Not all people he rules over have by definition the same worth to him and although he'd prefer to take care of his people he is able to sacrifice them if need be.

There will be various races in the game, whether or not smut between diff races becomes a thing would depend on reader opinion.
