The meteorite mutated the creatures that dwell in the seas, making travel between the few islands where humans managed to establish colonies impossible. That was until a certain company invented the Skytrees, making travel by airship not only possible but economical.

But this did not unite humanity, predictably, this only caused more division and war. War over the few farmable lands drifting admits the large ocean. And if there was one thing the meteorite did help with it would be war. Because after it fell, a lucky few people started being born with special powers. Ichor ran through their veins, and these warriors bled gold. Their blood could summon tornados or even revive fallen soldiers.

Nations, centered around these individuals, quickly rose up and crumbled within the span of only a few hundred years. But pirates and mercenaries remained a constant. As did the BLIMP company.

While most islands changed rulers many a time, there is only a single piece of land left rumored to have never been conquered, the land where that golden meteorite fell all those years ago. And although many have tried, today, nobody wears the crown of the fallen star. <<less

William, a broken forest ranger suffocating under the weight of guilt and whiskey, wanders through the woods with no purpose — just a body burning itself through the days. But when the sun vanishes at 12:01 PM, plunging Earth into frigid darkness, William’s useless existence becomes the only thing keeping him alive. A cursed blessing of immolation keeps him from freezing, his body blazing with endless fire. But every flame reignites the memories he’s desperate to forget, turning his survival into a waking nightmare.

Just before the sun dies, in the void between the fabric of space, Zephar, a celestial gambler with a catastrophic losing streak and the universe’s reluctant god, accidentally triggers a chain reaction of apocalyptic events. Forced to reset existence with a dice roll, Zephar watches in horror (and mild amusement) as reality twists itself into absurdity: swarms of basketball-sized bees with serrated wings, tornadoes made of sentient pizzas, and an infinite treadmill that drags survivors across the frozen Earth.

But the real apocalypse hasn’t even begun.

Zephar’s final dice of the first roll lands on an event called Multiverse Highlander — a catastrophic battle royale where entire planets gain sentience, evolve into monstrous warforms, and gods, demons, and civilizations from countless universes are dragged into one brutal arena.

Earth awakens as Auracea, a living colossus of stone, magma, and thriving plant life, with eyes like twin suns and a voice as sharp as shattered glass. She is the Earth’s wounded spirit, already partially conscious after centuries of human exploitation, now fully awake and ready for war. She’s loud, merciless, and furious — a cosmic force wearing Earth’s scars like armor.

And she despises humanity.

Especially William.

To Auracea, William is everything wrong with the world — a wasted life, a man who let the Earth rot beneath his feet while drowning in self-pity. She lashes out at him with biting sarcasm and brutal honesty, the voice of every failure he can’t outrun. Yet, when the Ashborn, a planet-devouring empire, appear on Mars and start hammering Earth with asteroids, Auracea is forced to choke down her hatred and broker a shaky truce with William to face the looming invasion.

William, the last human beacon in the darkness, becomes an unwilling pawn in Earth’s survival — the flickering flame between annihilation and the universe’s unraveling.

And somewhere in the void, an uneasy Zephar grins, shaking his dice again.

This is going to be a space adventure story... Wooo~.... At the start, it will be the fresh beginnings of our commander struggling to get funds to survive and the story will work itself up from there. There will be timeskips, there will be mistakes, this is a Grimdark world at times, and at times the story might be slow.

This is my first time publishing my work. I will be working on this in my free time, or when I'm bored.
I will probably add more tags and/or genres as I go along.

Turns out, it was the latter. And no, Arthur, it wasn't terrifying. It is the 24th Century now, and for the past hundred years, the nations of Humankind, alongside many other races', have flourished together as an interstellar society. Of course, the Galaxy is a big place. And compared to the hundred odd light-years we had expanded, there is still quite a way to go, before we truly tamed that rich black ocean.

That, of course, is the year-long mission of the HMIS Tim Berners-Lee of the Royal Expeditionary Initiative. To explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life, and new civilisations. As long as they can survive the budget cuts. And the fact practically everything in space is trying to kill them.
