“YESSSSSSS!!!”
It was all according to plan! A world with magic and demons and heroes! A world where one can be greater than a famous commercial man!
“Wait. No!” He slaps himself in the face with both of his hands as he remembered what he originally came here for, to find the salaryman who he hit with his truck. First and foremost, he tried to wave his hands around, making a dragging motion like those they do in virtual reality games.

“Nothing, huh. This must be a medieval fantasy type.”

Slightly disappointed that he might never know if his efforts for bonus stats worked, he scanned the perimeter. It was a quaint little town, with the otherworldly villagers wearing a conservative attire compared to modern times. The road was only wide enough for horse carriages to go around. He was in front of a fountain which in most isekais, is the town center. He looked around the immediate vicinity and saw a wooden building with dried grass straws for a roof with a signage in its front. The signage bears a symbol of a glass beer. “That must be the local tavern.” He thought, and so he tried to go towards there.

“Eugh… w-where are we?”
Unfortunately, there was someone grabbing his slacks. It was Sato, who was still lying on the ground.

“W-WHAT?! SATO?!”
“Nyneh… Owo? MR. VAN!

Fune, who was behind him, suddenly hugs Van and cries out of joy.
“You’re alive! *sniff* I’m so glad!”
“You too… why are you both here?”
“I thought you were trying to kill yourself!”
“Damn that Rori, not telling the plan!”
“The… plan?”
Fune was too focused earlier at the fact that Van was alive but now, she noticed the vibrant surrounding she was in. Inhale, exhale. She was surprised at how free the air is from the suffocating smog back in Japan. They saw creatures they’ve never seen before flying across the blue sky with the three moons.

“Where… are we?”
“Brother, Is this isekai?!”
“Exactly. Fune, do you know anything about isekai?”
“I only watched Lance Art Internet.”
“That won’t help here.”

The other two closed tightly to Van in this strange new land. They entered the building he meant to earlier. Unlike the calming atmosphere outside, here it was very dark and damp, with many suspicious looking people typical of evil henchmen. Pigmen and Snakemen are seated across various wooden tables with gazed fixed on the group. Van first wondered is it because of his smell? Is it because of Sato’s tattoos? Or is it because of Fune’s amazing scent. “Oh, dumb me.” He immediately realized the attire they were wearing, the salary man outfit that was vastly superior to the manually stitched clothing of the local residents. One of the people, a gruff, Pigman far, far bigger than Sato, stood up and blocked Van’s way towards the counter.
“You people are newcomers, aren’t you?”
“W-we are…”
“I see. Welcome to Newmachi.”

The Pigman went back to his table and kept staring at them as they went towards the counters. A regular-looking woman was there and horrifyingly stared at them.
“W-we’ll stay for the night..”
“That will be 10,000 hors.”
“W-we don’t have any hors.”

*SLAM*
The pigman from earlier slamed his table into half and shouted, “I KNEW IT! YOU ARE SPIES OF THE GUILD!”
“N-no! We are new to this world and-”
“THE SAME STORY AS THE HERO OF THE LIGHT! DIE, HUMAN!”

The regular-looking people changed form, some were actually slime people and others hiding sharp razor teeth and tails on their dresses. The trio were scared to death and was just paralyzed in the middle.
“I-I can’t let it end like this! There’s gotta be something!”
He browsed every light novel he read in his mind and remembered Re:Circle, where its world is similar with no newbie guides whatsoever. The protagonist there actually had a secret magic ability inside him all along.
“Maybe… I have to do it!”
He focused on his mind, trying to channel whatever energy system this world has. He saw a faint, blue liquid in the dark flowing downwards.

“This is it!” He tried to control the direction of the fluid only with his desires and then he chanted:
“AURA: BARRIER!”
“AUGHUF!”
The charging minions got deflected away from them with a cylindrical light barrier and they quickly ran towards outside the inn, but the enemy were already gathered outside. They shouted various things like:
“Curse the light!”
“May the Demon King reign forever!”
“Kill the elves!”

“E-elf?!”
A quick scan of their ears and indeed, it was pointy. A minuscule change as they didn’t feel anything different when they were humans.
“Amazing! You’re a mage, Mr. Van!” Fune, despite not familiar with isekai, knows mages and stuff because of video games.

They tried to attack Van and the others with magics like fireballs and acid attacks and some tried to force their way with their bodies, but his forcefield was formidable. Van felt his energy depleting though, so it was only a matter of time before they breached the protection he provided.
“SATO! FUNE! CLOSE YOUR EYES AND FIND THE BLUE LIQUID THING!”
They followed just as he said, but because they don’t really know that much about isekais, they don’t know what they were looking for.
“I’m sorry, Van! I just can’t understand what the hell you’re saying!”

*CRACK*
“DAMN IT, THE BARRIER IS STARTING TO BREAK!”
“Mr. Van! Mr. Sato!”
“I WON’T LET YOU HURT MY BROTHER AND THIS GIRL!”
Wrath filled Sato’s heart and unconsciously changed form, with bat-like wings on his back and fangs protruding from his mouth. He doesn’t know why, but he detected every little scent of blood from every one trying to kill them. He found it delicious. He quickly grabbed Van and Fune while his skin gradually filled up with gray fur with his eyes turning deep red.
“V-Vampire!”
“RAWWWWR!!!”
He screamed so loud that everyone was terrified. He then proceeded to fly directly above to escape, breaking the barrier himself.
“Sato! You look… different!”
“I didn’t saw a liquid or anything. I heard someone calling for me. It was from above… it was the moons.”
“I’m so confused! What’s happening, Mr. Van?! What are we doing here?”

Van explained the full plan that Rori forgot to tell.
“So it was supposed to be only you… I’m sorry! It’s my fault once again!”
“We can’t do anything now. We need to find the guy who saved you.”
He said that but he has absolutely no idea where to start! Almost all isekais start with a beginner friendly world that explains the rules, but they were so unlucky to start at something that horrible.

“I’m getting tired, Brother. Let’s land here.”
Sato carried them far enough from the village that the biome is considerably different. He transformed back into elvish again and rested immediately. Thick oak trees cover every degree around them. They also noticed how strangely quiet it is in such a dense area… Van knows what a silent forest means though.
“I know you’re watching! Come out! Elves!”

“Not bad, mage.”
