I am amending my update schedule. Starting from... now!

I will be updating on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. No weekends and no holidays.

I have just realized how exhausting writing is and also how much I was a sucker for edgy stuff.

No Tuesdays and Thursdays, (except for today, or if I miss a chapter)...

Dave POV...(again damnit)

Holly slammed the door open and walked outside. What used to be a happy sight, has been turned into a rusted dreary animal hospital in a matter of hours.

We could feel a sudden rush of hot wind, that was a stark contrast, between the nice weather from before.

It was really hot.

Well not really... In fact, it was the exact same sight of the animal hospital before the weird "earthquake", except that it seemed like many fights had broken out.

The surroundings had blood and guts all over, and dead bodies that looked like they had been clawed on or shot to death.

Oh my god. If what I saw in the animal hospital was just a 3-course meal... then this is a buffet. How many people, and animals have had their lives ended?

But other than that the surroundings were the same.

It was still a sunny beautiful day, There were still clouds in the sky, and the sun still seemed to have a bright obnoxious smile on it's face.

Actually... It seemed even more obnoxious than before. Stop smiling, damnit! It feels like the sun is smiling at all the dead bodies! STOP SMILING! But wait... maybe the scenery is a bit different... well aside from this bloodbath and this meltingly hot temperature...

The clouds... The clouds shone a bright green hue... it felt like it was almost radioactive or something.

Now thats a major red flag! Why are the clouds green?! Does this have something to do with Holly's and other the animal's mutations?

I looked up in wonder. I was going to notify Chow and Holly, but it seemed like they had already noticed, and looked up at the skys in shock.

"W-Whoa" mumbled Chow.

"Talk about great weather huh. A forecast of 92 degrees fahrenheit, and a multitude of green clouds." said Holly sarcastically.

Why did she say 92 degrees fahrenheit? I know it's hot, but why the prediction?

"Huh? How do you know the temperature Holly?" I asked confused.

"It's intutition... it just feels like 92 degrees fahrenheit is the right temperature."

Sure, Holly. I doubt it.

"Anyhow, lets go north." said Holly "Actually... before that, we should locate and obtain food."

Finally. An actual good, logical idea. I thought one could never come out of Holly's mouth.

"W-hy?" asked Chow. "Ar-e weh not- going fishin?"

"We will Chow. But before that, do you not think that we can go fishing on an empty stomach? Because if we do, we will be too hungry to eat the fish. You might be full from eating those bodies, but I would rather starve than sully my stomach eating that." muttered Holly condescendingly.

Oh my god. I take back that thought where I praised her for having a a good logical idea. I thought she was smart when she said 'locate and obtain food'. No, it was just her love for fish and her unrelenting pride.

"Oh" mumbled Chow with an embaressed face.

"Anyways we should go find a convenience store before we go fishing. Besides food, we will also need to stock up on daily necessitys and maybe some medical supplies in case I get hurt. But I doubt it will come to that." commented Holly.

Jeez. How self-centered can you be Holly?

"Dave? Do you know where the nearest convenience store is?" asked Holly.

Ughh...

"It is also north, and is a few blocks away from us." I said as I pointed north.

"Purrfect" purred Holly with a smirk as she walked towards that direction.

Did Holly just unconsiously make a cat pun? Oh. My. God.

We walked around as I gazed upon dead bodies of all sort of creatures. I saw mutated dogs, bunnys, lizard, and of course humans.

I cringed at the sight.

But why are there no cat corpses?

While we walked, we could hear cries, yells, talking, and many animal sounds.

Although there were basically nobody around, we could all feel stares at our backs, and sometimes see a occasional creature.

Most of the time though, when they saw that we noticed them, they suddenly ran away.

Why are they running?

Chow looked a bit frightened at the new environment. He was darting around and was shivering. I don't blame him, I was pretty scared myself.

Holly on the other hand, was not frightened in the least. She just looked around, and seemingly enjoyed the new scenery. I could tell though, that she was interested and extremely happy at this new change; she was beaming the whole time we were walking around.

Holly might be used to it, but I am not.

"Hey Dave, are we there yet? This is getting boring." Holly said as she contradicted herself with an interested expression, as she looked around curiously.

"We are almost there Holly." I said in a annoyed tone.

We walked a bit more before we reached our destination.

It was a small, run-down convenience store.

"This is the place, huh? It looks sorta shabby." muttered Holly.

I looked at the lettering on the store. "CONVENIENCE" in orange letters.

This is the place.
