After almost an hour of waiting Ryan came over with a slave carrying 2 bags and he had a bag himself, also 2 sleeping bags. The two carried everything up to the second floor and put them in the corner near the bed, then Ryan did a quick introduction of his slave.

“This is slave B339677H4L, but call him B33.” we were told. He was a male in his 20’s and didn’t speak or say hi, this made me happy as I didn’t care to talk to him. His name was just the first 3 numbers and letters from his slave id code, at least the one he was called now. I had my name shortened by Dan but he got a number designation, I felt bad for him some what in regards to that.

“I’m happy its just you 2 as I didn’t want to transport to many people. Oh B33 don’t touch or hurt Lin as you will regret hurting my property, okay so we can leave now?” Dan told them.

“Yes, and don’t worry he wont try anything and even if he did I would remind him not to.” Ryan reassured him.

“I will be reviewing some papers with B33 helping me.” he continued then opened a bag and went to work.

“Lin you will stay up here with me, most likely there is no need to be sitting on the turret this trip since the danger will come from others threats.” Dan told me.

“Yes Master.” I told him.

“Its funny how when it was hotter out you were sitting there a lot but when it cools off its not needed.” he then said to me. It had cooled off so it was nicer during the day even thought it was never uncomfortably hot unless the wind stopped, but the nights were now really cold or thats how it felt to me. Luckily I think Tok and Ner were the hottest month so I didn’t have to fear the heat getting worse.

“You can just sit somewhere and ill call you when needed.” he then told me and went to get the boat started.

“Yes Master” I responded again and sat on the floor somewhere. It was weird to not have a conversation or speak casually with him but I knew why, I choose to not sit on the bed since our guest might start to figure out the truth.

As we left Ryan and His slave were in the corner, Ryan was reading various papers and books while his slave handed him stuff and put things away. There was a folding chair from downstairs used by him and of course B33 sat on the floor or was standing.

It was after we left Mortem city that my first interaction with Ryan’s slave happened unfortunately, he dropped a book as we hit a few seconds of rough water and it landed near me.

“Hey could you hand that to me?” I was asked by him.

After ignoring him for a second I responded, “No that’s your job, I serve my Master and you serve yours. Please don’t talk to me.”.

He picked up the book and as he did I intentionally avoided looking at him, I moved away from them and sat further away. Luckily Ryan said nothing and kept reading.

After more time passed I got up and asked Dan what the threat was on this job and he told me, “Traps and other things can be left in the water intentionally, families and factions play dirty. They wont use there arms and fight directly unless civil war happens but are always ready to, so they will try to sabotage or sink vessels sometimes, use bait to draw hungry sea life at times, pay factories not to make stuff and more. The whole reason for using my boat when there family has there own is to avoid detection, even if my boat is recognized there is no reason to assume I’m transporting them. If were lucky nothing will happen on this trip but still.”.

“Thank you Master.” I then told him.

“You not wrong we did do a legal but underhanded move in response to them also you sure told your slave a lot there.” Ryan then told Dan.

Shit I thought that I could at least ask a work related question with them around, I didn’t want to give anything away. Granted Dan’s jab at Ryan didn’t help the situation but he probably had to make that comment. Luckily Dan spoke up and I knew he was fine with what I asked, I instantly stopped feeling nervous.

“Its important to educate your slave on stuff related to there job and she just asked a question so no need to get mad at her. It was relevant to our current situation.” he responded.

“Fair point, sorry not used to slaves being able to ask questions but your right.” Ryan told him and went back to reading. He didn’t care about Dan’s comment luckily but he never struck me as that kind of person.

After that I did nothing and we were near Saxum city as it was about to get dark as we docked, Dan slept on the bed and I was given a sleeping bag. The other 2 stayed up a little later then went to sleep, I wanted to sleep with Dan and I have never slept on the floor while with him. Still I knew why I had to but this wasn’t as comfortable, I barley slept but I eventually did fall asleep.

I thought about how I had to go back to that city again, where so many people looked down on us. I already knew I had to go back but still now I was thinking about it again. I did miss Sam and I was hoping to see her soon but even thought we were close to her city we weren’t visiting.

We all woke up early and nothing happened as we kept traveling till it got dark, there was no sleeping as we all stayed up. Dan said that we would be there by sunrise and at one point the water got really rough, Dan sounded nervous as he told us not to panic. He wasn’t sure what caused that but it ended so it was fine, later that night there was a lot of activity in the water.

There were at least 2 dead whale bodies being eaten by sea worms, squid fish, great whites and more, Dan instantly took a long detour far away from all that. I panicked a little and tried to hide it as he laughed before he spoke.

“Hey Ryan look at the Grands welcome party, if we sank near there we would get to say hello.” he said.

I now remembered what he said, I was still kinda nervous so I had forgotten at the moment. That was a trap in case our boat had trouble, I wanted to hide some where for a few minutes but knew I couldn’t just walk away on my own right now.

“Oh how nice of them, ill be sure to thank the Grands when I see them.” he told him.

“Hey Lin I need you to do something.” Dan then told me and I walked up to him.

“Yes Master” I responded.

“Go down to the first floor and look at my work area for that book for me, you know witch one. It might take a few minutes and if I left it at home just come back up.” he told me.

I knew what he was doing, I thought I was hiding the fact that I was feeling nervous but he knew. I went downstairs and sat on the floor near the door, I just did nothing but tried to relax. After I was done I went back up and lied saying I couldn’t find it, we were almost there and I was looking forward to dropping them off so I could sleep in the bed.

Luckily our interactions were few and brief so that made this weird situation not as bad, I would be so happy when this job was over.

Unrelated story but you know what sucks, when your relatively new cz scorpion evo 3 pcc’s black hawk pop up iron sights cant be adjusted for elevation. No matter what I do I always hit way below my target and I literally raised the front sight post until it was close to unscrewing. I hate red dots and most electronic aiming methods for guns since there mechanical only so I don’t want battery power to be needed to aim, night vision and thermal are cool but I cant afford that. This rifle is pic rail only so no hk styles sights installed that are factory zeroed, looks cool still but cant use the gun. Also goblin slayer will be getting another season, the show where the charterers have no names but how they talk feels totally normal. Also the elf is amazing, priestess is cute to but not as much.
